Christmas is a season of giving and Chermaine Poo is hosting a very meaningful TV programme which aims to encourage people to lend a hand to charity.
We were invited by ntv7 to participate in the final episode of the tv programme called “SKII‘s Miracle Makers”. It is currently aired on ntv7 every Sunday at 10.30 pm.Heheh!
Each episode of this inspiring and touching programme features a dedicated Malaysian woman who has done a lot over many years to help people in need. The remarkable women include Dr Hartini of Rumah Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Nur Salam, Dato’ Ruby Khong of Kechara Soup Kitchen, Mother Mangalam of Pure Life Society, Tengku Rozida of 1901 Hotdogs and Clarine Chun of Fun Gates Superflow Foundation.
For the final episode, after being inspired by these great women, Chermaine has embarked on a charitable cause to create her own miracle, called “Chermaine Poo’s Cupcakes for Charity” “(3Cs)” whereby she had baked hundreds of delicious “Chermaine Poo’s Recipe” cupcakes and attempted to sell them in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to raise funds for the needy. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to deserving charitable organisations.
The cupcakes came in boxes of 6's and sold for a minimum donation of RM50 each box.
Of course we bought some all for the good cause. :)
We ate one immediately after we got our hands on those delightful cupcakes. Yes, it tastes as good as it looks! We were quite famished after being stuck in traffic for hours just to get to Sunway Pyramid! Heheh!
Mr. & Mrs Poo being interviewed for the show.
Chermaine told us that she baked 1,000 pieces of cupcakes for the charity sales all by herself in 2 days (and night!). She didn't sleep for those 2 days and before that she was so busy with other work!
Her friends helped to wrap and put the cupcakes into the box. How very sweet of them. They were Albert Nico, Nila Palacios, Josh Lim and Carrie Fong.
Chermaine reserved a piece for last...
The last piece was a miniature cupcake that was in our opinion too cute to be eaten. LOL! It was up for bid!
The starting bid was RM 100 and it grew up to RM10,000 after she was done with it! The guy who won the bid was Dato Raymond Liew, President of McMillan Woods Global.
Congrats Chermaine! You are truly a Miracle Maker! At the moment we do not have the exact figures of the collection made from the charity sales. We will update you guys once we have that figure.
But we think it is the most expensive cupcake ever sold in Malaysia! :)
The highest bidder got more than he bid for. He got a giant cupcake too. Chermaine said something about that but our memory has failed us. We can't recall what she said! LOL! Guess we have to watch the show when it goes on air soon!
The generous guy who paid RM10,000 for a piece of Chermaine Poo's Cupcake! He even took out a mock check right there and then. :)
The supporters of Chermaine Poo's Cupcakes for Charity, wearing red. We wore red too but we were too shy to go on the stage and be on national TV. Heheh!
