REEBOK & MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCH CAPSULE COLLECTION FEATURING ICONIC SUPER HEROES & VILLIAN
25th October ’12 Petaling Jaya - Reebok Classics and Marvel Entertainment, LLC have joined forces to create a very special and unique 5 silhouette sneaker capsule collection featuring some of Marvel’s most iconic characters.
The collection features a range of iconic and new classic Reebok silhouettes - the Ventilator, Pump Fury & Night Storm HLS, not to mention the Freestyle Hi for the ladies. Each shoe features iconic Marvel Super Heroes and villains, to bring the shoe and the story to life highlighted by a host of design details.
Ventilator: Captain America. Steve Rogers was a frail young man who was enhanced by an experimental super-soldier serum in order to aid the United States war effort, making him Captain America. Encased in ice for decades after WWII, Cap is back…and on the Reebok Ventilator.
One of the lightest running shoes when it was introduced in the early 90’s, the Ventilator features Hexalite in the heel for lightweight cushioning & shock absorption and vented side panels for breathability. The Ventilator: Captain America features material and colorways inspired by Captain America’s uniform with scale embossed overlays which actually mimic his armor.
Insta Pump Fury: Spider-Man. Arguably Marvel’s most iconic character, Spider-Man is able to cling to walls, has superhuman strength and speed, perfect balance, equilibrium and agility.
When it was released in 1994, the Insta Pump Fury was described as the ultimate running shoe. It incorporates three proven Reebok technologies – Graphlite, Hexalite and Pump – into one radical looking shoe. With just a few pumps the exoskeleton inflates, wrapping the foot and eliminating the need for laces.
We all know how bold and iconic this silhouette is – but with the added features of Spider-Man colorways and graphic treatments – this shoe really stands out in the pack.
Night Storm HLS: Venom. The Venom symbiote is a sentient extraterrestrial life form with a gooey, almost liquid-like form that attaches itself to a host.
The Night Storm HLS was introduced in 2012 as a reinterpretation of the Night Sky Mid and features a Graphlite shank and Hexalite in the heel, making it lighter than its predecessor. This mainly black shoe has 3D raised screen print graphics on the underlays, bright white speed-lacing and outsole and the image of Venom emblazoned on the insole.
Not forgetting the ladies – the Reebok x Marvel collection also includes the iconic Freestyle Hi silhouette.
Freestyle Hi: White Queen. Emma Frost is a mutant telepath who has evolved from one of the X-Men’s most dangerous foes to one of its most central members. Also known as White Queen, she has the ability to transform her body into organic diamond, rendering her nearly invulnerable and super-strong.
Designed for women, the Freestyle Hi features a rounded toe, slim line profile and petite Velcro straps, making it a favorite among trendsetters everywhere. The white textured leather upper resembles her suit, while the embossed dual straps, clear ice outsole and flow molded hangtag are obvious references to the facets of her diamond form.
Freestyle Hi: Black Widow. The Black Widow is an agent spy in the international espionage group S.H.I.E.L.D. She is a world class gymnast, expert martial artist, marksman and weapons specialist.
Making its debut in 1982, the Freestyle was the first fitness shoe designed especially for women and embodies the spirit of an entire generation. This shoe embodies Black Widow by using materials on the upper that mimic her shiny leather suit and iconic red hair, along with gold dual Velcro straps and a flow molded Black Widow logo hangtag.
RRP ranges from RM329.00 to RM479.00
In-store from 1st November 2012.

Complete Photos & Video: Nestlé World Walking Day @ Putrajaya
World Walking Day 2012 was held simultaneously, from 6am to 10am, at six locations nationwide last Sunday, 28 October.
• Putrajaya: Istana Kehakiman, Persiaran Perdana, Presint 3
• Perak : Polo Ground, Ipoh
• Pahang : Taman Gelora, Kuantan
• Johor Bahru : Taman Tasik Merdeka, Jalan Kolam Ayer
• Sabah : Dewan Tun Hamdan, Pekan Tamparuli
• Sarawak : Waterfront, Kuching
Since we cannot split ourselves into six, we can only report from one location Putajaya, which is the nearest and the largest in terms of number of walkers.
The World Walking Day is Nestlé's effort to encourage Malaysians to abandon their sedentary lifestyle and to walk for wellness.
Walking reduces many health risks, helps to prevent weight gain, improves our mood and relieves stress. World Walking Day offers a stress-free and non-competitive environment for Malaysians to exercise together while walking half of the 10,000 steps per day or 3.7km which is recommended by the Ministry of Health.
We certainly hope that more Malaysians will take up walking as their regular exercise. But don't just wait for the annual World Walking Day and do it once a year. To reap the reward of walking, you have to walk at least 10,000 steps (or about 8km) per day.
We noticed a few prominent local bloggers who join the World Walking Day like Abang Nara from BeautifulNara.com
Featuring mainly hot gossips of local celebs, Beautiful Nara draw millions to his blog very month.
Meet Red Mummy of RedMummy.com. Still wearing a little red despite having to wear the green official Tee for the World Walking Day. Red Mummy is well-known her love of everything red. :)
If you are blog walking next time, make your you walk over to their blogs. Heheh!
In conjunction of the 100th year anniversary of Nestlé in Malaysia, a cake cutting ceremony was held after the walk.
Nestlé - a household name that has been offering fantastic products and bringing smiles to Malaysian homes for 100 years! :D
Walking is good for you! Check out the flag off.

All proceeds will be distributed to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for hunger relief work in third world and underdeveloped countries as well as to several local charities.

First Look: The Live Great Run 3km Team T-Shirt and Race Pack Collection
We have been running for many years and we have not encountered any race T-shirt taht looks like this. It is mean for a 2 headed giant or a pair of Siamese twins?
Heheh! No, actually this special T-shirt is meant for the 3km 2-to-a-team category in the Live Great Run 2012. The fun-loving people at Great Eastern thought this is a good idea for you and a family member to enjoy a day of fun while getting some exercise in. You may pair up with your husband, wife, child or parents for the fun-filled 3km Run.
A word of caution, just make sure the height difference between you and your partner is not more than 1 foot, for safety reason.
Apart from the 3km category, there is a 12km run (with obstacle course) for those who love more challenges.
We made a little trip to the race kit collection centre located at the Lobby area of Menara Great Eastern around 3pm just now. The place was pretty quiet, perhaps due to Hari Raya Haji.
Some promotion going on... 2XU and other running stuff by Key Power Sports.
You ready to run great and live great? :)
The race will be flagged off at Menara Matrade, KL on 4 Nov 2012 (7am),

Press Release: Nestlé World Walking Day 2012 Launch
MALAYSIANS WALK WITH NESTLÉ
PETALING JAYA (October 10, 2012) – It’s always easy to talk about what we should do for our personal wellness and how we should exercise to stay healthy. However, for many people it’s easier to talk about it than walk the talk.
Poor lifestyle habits such as an unhealthy diet and physical inactivity have been listed in the recent National Health and Morbidity Survey as key contributing factors to the poor health and weight problems prevalent amongst Malaysians today. According to the survey, one out of two Malaysians is either overweight or obese where only 43.7% engage in some form of physical activity. Despite being aware of the need to lead a healthy lifestyle, many people end up procrastinating doing exercise.
Nestlé recognises that regular exercise is a way to keep healthy and that something as simple and stress-free as walking has many benefits. In an effort to encourage Malaysians to walk for wellness, the company launched World Walking Day on November 21, 2010, as a fun and easy way for Malaysians to explore the joy of walking.
Since 2011, Nestlé has been organising numerous Nestlé Walking Day events in various communities throughout the country throughout the year, which culminate in World Walking Day.
A total of 55 Nestlé Walking Day events have been organised to date in 2012, with over 5,000 Malaysians walking with Nestlé. This number is set to increase as more Nestlé Walking Day events will be held in the run up to this year’s World Walking Day on October 28, 2012.
World Walking Day 2012 will be held simultaneously, from 6am to 10am, at the following six (6) locations:
• Putrajaya : Istana Kehakiman, Persiaran Perdana, Presint 3“Walking reduces many health risks, helps to prevent weight gain, improves our mood and relieves stress. World Walking Day offers a stress-free and non-competitive environment for Malaysians to exercise together while walking half of the 10,000 steps per day or 3.7km which is recommended by the Ministry of Health,” said Peter R. Vogt, Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.
• Perak : Polo Ground, Ipoh
• Pahang : Taman Gelora, Kuantan
• Johor Bahru : Taman Tasik Merdeka, Jalan Kolam Ayer
