Exclusive: We Ran The Happiest 5K on the Planet (The Color Run Malaysia) with Celebrunner Dato' Siti Nurhaliza

Dubbed the Happiest 5k on the Planet, The Color Run is a five kilometre-long fun run where participants start out decked in white and cross the finish line plastered in colours.

And guess whom we bumped into at the starting line of the The Color Run Malaysia in Padang Merbok? She is Malaysia's most popular female entertainer, Dato' Siti Nurhaliza.

She looked gorgeous and radiant without a hint of make-up on her face this morning! Flawless. We think she woke up like this! Heheh!

Siti had the official tee, a black tudung, black skirt over her black long track pants on. Quite like the girl next door, but it didn't kept other runners from recognizing her and to stop her for photographs.

It was a "dangerous" task running next to her. We think her mischievous mood was on this morning. Not the usual prim and proper persona we see on stage and during press conferences.

She caught us by surprise when she sneakily threw some red powder our way! Luckily, it only hit our head and shirt, not the camera. Heheh!

Siti was at it again. Pouring some colour powder on some unsuspecting victims! :)

If you have been a follower of Siti's Instagram, you would have noticed how she loves to take selfies. Here, she found a perfect mirror at a junction for a selfie.

Yes. She runs. she usually does it on treadmill. This was her first 5K run.

Siti joined over 13,000 runners from all walks of life, plastered from head to toe in a vibrant celebration of colours. Every km was marked with a colour toss station where volunteers threw coloured cornstarch powder onto in-coming runners.

Looks like fun, eh?

We found Siti's secret of how she kept her face so clean during the run. Heheh!

More selfies with funny faces this time... See the selfie HERE.

Cheers! Always rehydrate yourself during your run.

Even though her run was countlessly interrupted by her fans' requests for photos, she would graciously agree to it.

We think The Color Run is truly an amazing event where people of all walks of life can mingle like all the explosion of colours thrown in the air.

Since there are no winners or official times, The Color Run celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality, giving people a chance to abandon social norms and join in the fun.

With all these smiles, it is hard to deny the fact that The Color Run is The Happiest 5K on the Planet!

Peace y'all... Thank you Siti for allowing us to run wit you!

Making the final dash to the finish line.

Yes! She did it! Siti, congratulations on your first 5K run!

We asked her how she felt after completing her run. She summarized it in one word - "seronok" (fun) followed by a smile.

This will not be the first and the last time you will see Siti Nurhaliza running. She has voiced her interest in doing the Puma Night Run.

Well, you have 2 months to train for it, Siti! Go for it! :)

Press Release BOH Plantations & Malaysia Nature Society Join Forces for Conservation Project In Cameron Highlands

Kuala Lumpur, 11 August, 2014: BOH Plantations Sdn Bhd (BOH) and Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) have formed a partnership to embark on a conservation project in Cameron Highlands.

Cameron Highlands, home to BOH and its tea plantations, is known for its cool weather and scenic vistas among local and foreign tourists, and is also an important water catchment area for clean water supply.

“The natural beauty and delicate ecosystem of the highlands is currently under threat. However, I am glad that the Malaysian Government has shown that they are taking the issues affecting Cameron Highlands seriously with the recent announcement of setting up a command centre to combat illegal land clearing in the highlands,” said Balu Perumal, Head of Conservation, MNS. “However, the responsibility of protecting the environment should not fall in the hands of the government alone, but also the residents there. Which is why the project we are initiating together with BOH is aimed at reaching out to the school children of Cameron Highlands,” he added.

Apart from training the children of all 27 schools in the Cameron Highlands District to enhance their appreciation and awareness on the importance of nature conservation, this project also aims to enable the schools in addressing their own ‘environmental management’ and solving local environmental problems.

“As Malaysia’s leading tea growing company, BOH is especially dependent on the environment in Cameron Highlands where we grow our tea,” explained Chen Chaw Chang, Head of Marketing and Export for BOH Plantations. “To help fund this conservation project, BOH has organised a charity fun run to be held this coming September, right in the trails of the BOH Sungei Palas Plantation. We want families to come participate and appreciate the beauty of Cameron Highlands, and to realise the importance of preserving its environment.”

The BOH Highlands Run is officially endorsed by the Pahang State Tourism Board and supported by Fitness First Malaysia, Copthorne Hotel and Hotel Titiwangsa. Registration is limited to the first 500 entries or by 1st September 2014. All proceeds from the run will be channelled to the environmental conservation project in Cameron Highlands.

For more information on the Highlands Fun Run, please visit BOH’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BohTea or register online at www.myraceonline.com.

Press Release: Healthy Fuchsia Fun with Avenue K’s Balloon Run!

Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2014 - A total of 765 runners, young and old of all creed and colour came bustling early this Sunday morning to take part in Kuala Lumpur’s very first balloon run organized by Avenue K shopping mall. The 5 kilometre fun run took place in the vicinity of the trendy new shopping mall along a scenic route within the city centre mainly via Jalan Pinang, Jalan Binjai and Jalan Mayang.

Participants were divided into the Men’s Open, Women’s Open and the adorable Family category where any two parents with two to four children were eligible to take part. Top winners in all categories received cash prizes and the top 50 finishers in the Men’s and Women’s Open also received a medal while everyone received a certificate.

What made the run unique is that runners were required to tie four balloons to any part of their body to be carried with them throughout the 5 km route which strategically connects various city attractions such as the twin towers and the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, starting and finishing at AK’s main entrance on Jalan Ampang. The balloons also acted as time boosters which deducts 5 seconds per balloon from the runner’s official finishing time, once they complete the race.

The first place winner in the Men’s category was Thevan a/l Rayoo with an impressive time of 15 minutes 53 seconds while the Women’s category was won by Sheela a/p Samivellu with an equally impressive time of 18 minutes 25 seconds. The Somasuntharam family, who ran with their son and daughter took the first place in the Family category finishing the race in 23 minutes and 38 seconds.

The AK Balloon Run aims to bring Malaysians together and infuse a neighbourly community spirit via a healthy activity that injects a unique element.

According to Sue Wang, Avenue K’s General Manager, “We believe in offering exciting experiences for all our shoppers hence the balloon run’s creative concept, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia”.

“We would like to spread the message that Kuala Lumpur is a fun city and Avenue K embodies that very idea. It’s a cool urban hub where individuality and creativity is celebrated,” she added.

The main idea behind the conceptualization of a balloon run was to re-inject fun into a run. The idea is to make runners feel happy and not be intimidated by the idea of participating in a run.

Judging from the overwhelming response this year, Avenue K plans to make the AK Balloon Run an annual event, with even more participants.

Themed entertainment specialist, Discoveria and KPJ Healthcare also supported the run by coming as partners for the lively event.

Avenue K along with co-organisers Concepteleven Services are already in the midst of planning next year’s AK
Balloon Run, bigger and better with more surprises in store for all participants.

Her face sells watches, apparels, massage devices, cosmetics, kitchen appliances, hair dryers, food, magazines and now...MIPOW, a brand of premium mobile device accessories.

The media conference to announce Amber Chia appointment as the MIPOW band ambassador was held in the Zouk Club on 5 August. It was witnessed by hundreds of guests including Amber's celebrity friends.

MIPOW is brought to our shores by the distributor Sun-U (Sunweu Sdn Bhd).

We had a brief chat with Amber at the media conference. We asked about her favourite device from the MIPOW range. Almost instantly, she grabbed a sleek looking device out of her hand bag.

At the first glance it looked like a compact case mirror. But actually, it is the Power Mirror, a portable universal charger with mirror finish on one of its sides.

We think it is a clever device. It is the new best friend for any tech-savvy girl like Amber Chia to touch up her make up and keep the juice running for her mobile devices. Agree?

Celebrunner: Zain Saidin @ PUMA new global brand platform, Forever Faster launch event in Berjaya Times Square

The Celebrunner exclusive blog post is back. This time we got Zain Saidin to do a running pose (and the famous "Usain Bolt" pose) for us. Zain is a Malaysian actor, well known as Henry Middleton in Oh My English! on Astro TVIQ channel. He is also married to actress Rozita Che Wan, who is expecting a baby which is due in two month’s time. Congratulations Zain!

We caught up with Zain at the launching of PUMA new global brand platform, Forever Faster in Berjaya Times Square yesterday.

Forever Faster embraces the thrill of being first, the swagger of being the best, and the fun of being able to adapt; but it is also an ethos that goes beyond the boundaries of a marketing campaign.

PUMA Southeast Asia General Manager, Miguel Andrade, said: “We believe every Malaysian has Forever Faster in them, being ambitious, bold and charismatic in nature. It is not about making Malaysians Forever Faster, but rather bringing the Forever Faster out of them.”

“This is an exciting project that we have been looking forward to for some time now, and cannot wait to commence future consumer interactions,” added Andrade, who also invited members of the public and media to challenge the ‘The Red Wall’, a three-metre high vertical wall that is so imposing.

The Red Wall is open to public to challenge themselves and to embrace the values that make up Forever Faster, which envelopes around bravery, determination, joy and most of all confidence.

You can win yourselves some PUMA voucher by just trying The Red Wall (RM50 if you managed to get on top) and RM10 if you suck @ss at it. LOL!

So, head over to Berjaya Times Square (main entrance) from7 – 10 August (10am-10pm) to experience The Red Wall!

With the mission to become the Fastest Sport Brand in the World, Forever Faster is targeted to a selective group called, ‘Game Changers’ who are active progressive athletes aged 16-24. The platform will be driven through a comprehensive global multi-media marketing campaign that includes a TVC spot, featuring some of the World’s finest sporting personalities.

Forever Faster embodies athletes who stand out as individuals through both performance and personality. Jamaican Usain Bolt, widely regarded as the fastest man on Earth as he holds both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time measurements became mandatory in 1977, features in the Forever Faster TVC with football icons Mario Balotelli, Sergio Agüero, Marta Vieira da Silva; golfers Rickie Fowler and Lexi Thompson; and the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team.

The spot also sees these sportsmen and women challenging the conventional - taking risks through determination, bravery, confidence and joy.

Check out the Forever Faster TVC below!

In the coming months, the public can expect various activities as well as products themed around Forever Faster, with Mobium Elite Speed and Night Cat training mini-pods confirmed to be introduced in Malaysia late August. Also on the cards will be the PUMA Night Run, which will take place on 25 October 2014, with registrations opening on 8 August, 2014.
