Catch The Finishers (De Toutes Nos Forces) at the French Art & Film Festival 2015



Running is our passion and so is movie-watching. We were very excited to find De Toutes Nos Forces (The Finisher) listed as one of the many exciting movies that will be featured in the coming French Art & Film Festival 2015.

Although is not a 100% movie about running per se, we would recommend you, running enthusiasts to watch it. It tells the inspiring take of a wheelchair-bound young man, Julien who challenges his father to compete with him in the "Ironman" triathlon.

Such passionate, emotional and dramatic movie should be enjoyed on a big screen, not as illegal download. :)

Synopsis:

Media Release: Folks Get a Perfect Combo of Fitness & Fun at the NU Mall Walker



NU Sentral Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 23 April 2015 – 72 NU Mall Walkers had a blast showing off their dance moves and grooves in an energizing Zumba session at the NU Mall Walker held at NU Sentral Shopping Centre last Sunday, 19 April 2015.

Exclusively organised by NU Sentral Shopping Centre in association with Celebrity Fitness, the NU Mall Walker is a morning mall walking workout where participants get a chance to roam within the compounds of the spacious mall before its opening hours.



The event started off with stretches as warm up at NU Sentral Centre Court where participants engaged in a 15 minute full-body stretching exercise under the directive of a Celebrity Fitness Instructor. They consequently embarked on their mall walking journey towards NU Sentral’s Skypark located at the top floor of the 9 storey shopping centre.

An energetic Zumba session followed soon after at the mall’s rooftop venue giving participants an enjoyable outdoor fitness experience under the sunny morning sky. NU Sentral Skypark is a spacious rooftop open-air venue which boasts a whopping 14,400 sq. ft. of space with 0.3 acre of roof garden perfect for a dance party providing the best combination of fitness and fun under the sun.



The participants had an entertaining time during the Zumba session, boogying and prancing to great music as they followed the groovy dance moves of a Celebrity Fitness Zumba Instructor, Sunny Cheong. Giggles and cheerfulness filled the air as the Instructor swayed his hips and made quirky dance moves amid the blaring sounds of the upbeat music.

With participation from kids as young as six years old to the elderlies in their sixties, the NU Mall Walker not only provided participants with the walking exercise they need but also allowed them to let loose, have fun and dance their calories away. Apart from that, the NU Mall Walker also allowed participants to socialize, make new friends and create comradeship. Participants were each given a goodie bag and a variety of shopping vouchers after the event.

The event were also graced by local rock band Mad August, 8TV quickie host, Gary Yap and singer and host, Victor Lee. Centrally located next to KL Sentral, NU Sentral is easily accessible via the public transit lines which means people can get to the mall without driving, although there is plenty of parking for those who drive.



“I had a lot of fun walking around the mall during the NU Mall Walker. The NU Sentral Skypark is splendidly beautiful and I enjoyed getting sweaty and dancing to the beat of the music during the Zumba session” said local blogger Kifli Mally who were one of the participant of the NU Mall Walker.

Review: Keen Uneek , Open Air Footwear



Uneek is pronounced unique. It is also KEEN U spelled backwards. Love the wordplay there. Heheh! It is a new innovative sandal by KEEN which is like its name suggests, unique.



It’s nothing like what we have ever seen or worn before. Using innovative two cord construction, it is said UNEEK is able to mould to your feet for the perfect fit.



Unlike conventional shoes, UNEEK is devoid of traditional process of shoe-making like stitching, gluing and welding. The construction is simple – two cords weaved together to a lightweight sole.

The cords are made of braided polyester with nylon core for increased strength. The free-moving cord junction design allows the upper to move and adapt to the shape of foot.



The lightweight PU midsole delivers durability and comfort while the non-marking rubber outsole with razor siping for improved ground traction.



The sandal is made for the outdoors, so it is not afraid of getting wet! We took our pair to the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park yesterday to try it out for the first time. There was a lot of walking done as we were there for the Sunway Lagoon Walk and Hunt competition.



The sandal is easy to put on and very comfortable. It had the support of the traditional shoes and the free moving cords on the hold the foot perfectly.



You can adjust the tightness using the flexible bungy cord on top of the sandal. Once we had them one, we are ready to take up the challenges in the park.



We walked every terrain that is available in Sunway Lagoon. We climbed stairs, hiked the jungle trail, wondered through the newly opened zoo, strolled on the suspension bridge and of course, jumped into the water at the largest man-made beach in the country.



UNEEK performed brilliantly on land and water! It is the airiest sandal, we have ever tried on. Once we were out from the water, we do not have to take them off to drain the excess water. The sandal dries off quite fast too. After Sunway Lagoon, we went shopping in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre and by the time we got home, in a few hours later, the sandal is completely dry!



We have no negative feedback for this sandal. Be it outdoor in the woods or urban setting like water theme parks, UNEEK shines with comfort and style. It is so comfortable, you would want to wear it anywhere – a trip to the mall, running errands, picnic in the park etc.

Media Release: Under Amour’s Touchdown in Mid Valley - The New Store is Now Open!



Kuala Lumpur, 21 April 2015 - Just months after launching its first-ever Malaysia brand store in KLCC, the US-based performance footwear and apparel sporting brand continues its momentum in the market with the opening of a new brand store in the Mid Valley Megamall location.

The brand hosted a special launch event today. In conjunction with this, Under Armour had also launching its Earn Your Armour (EYA) campaign starting Tuesday, 28 April 2015, which will be held at the rooftop of Avenue K.

This campaign is part of a global initiative to educate the public about a healthy lifestyle and the fitness concept. EYA Malaysia is a six- (6) week challenge programme to enable participants to join free workout sessions conducted by Under Armour’s gym partners. Throughout the challenge, participants will gain encouragement and training tips from the trainers who will be with them every step of the way, pushing them to Earn Your Armour.

Nipples Bleed When You Run? Here are the Cause, Treatments and Preventions.



Nipple bleeding is real, people! You have probably seen your fellow runner struggling with it in a race (see above pic) or experienced it as a newbie before. Two streaks of blood running down your shirt from your nipples is not a pleasant sight! And horror of horror, it stings like hell too, especially when you shower after the run!

When men run, their nipples are constantly rubbing against the fabric of their shirt. Over the course of a long run (21km and above), this sensitive area can be rubbed to the point of bleeding. Because women wear tight-fitting sports bras, this shouldn't be a problem for them.

Various methods for treatment include applying an antiseptic cream to reduce the chances of bacterial infection and then slapping a plaster on it to prevent further irritation to the skin.

The preventions of bleeding nipples are simple. You can try one of these methods:

1) Put a plaster over each nipple before going for your run.

2) Smear some lubricant like Vaseline, BodyGlide to reduce the friction in the area prone to chaffing.

3) Avoid wearing a new vest for your long run. “Season” or wear it a few times first.

4) Avoid cotton shirt. Cotton keeps moisture in. This causes the soggy fabric to shifts back and forth. Switch to a synthetic sweat-wicking fabric to pull the moisture away from the skin.

5) Go topless. But then again, you are exposed to the sun and risks sunburn. Don’t forget to apply sunblock. Heheh!

Media Release: BLOODRUNNER 2015 is Now Open for Registration!



KUALA LUMPUR, 8 April 2015 – Sw1tch Strategies Sdn Bhd, a local experiential agency, launched the first-ever werewolf-themed urban obstacle night race that is set to take place on July 31st, 2015 in Putrajaya. BloodRunner 2015 is a werewolf-themed urban obstacle night race that features a theatrical element throughout the 10k route to excite and motivate the runners. The first of its kind, BloodRunner 2015 will be turning Putrajaya into an urban obstacle course set to flag off 5,000 participants when the full moon is at its brightest into a thrilling series of obstacles.

Kuala Lumpur, 13 April 2015 – In conjunction with World Health Day, Celebrity Fitness and local celebrities gathered together to advocate for better health through a special class at Celebrity Fitness, Nu Sentral.

World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April every year and is an international movement led by the World Health Organisation to highlight issues affecting global health. Building upon this meaningful occasion, Celebrity Fitness aims to inspire more Malaysians to start taking care of their health and discover the wonders of exercising.

Guests celebrities like Soo Wincci, Iqram, Winson Voon, Ian Ong, KK Wong and many more worked up a sweat in the Celebrity Fitness BODYCOMBAT™ class, which weaves a mixture of high energy martial arts moves into one jam-packed workout. BODYCOMBAT™ draws inspiration from a wide range of self-defense disclipines such as taekwondo, karate and muaythai, and is designed to unleash one’s inner confidence.

Runwitme Says: This event caters for both serious and also fun runners. There are 2 categories during the event that is 10KM Super Run and 3KM Fun Run. Runners are encouraged to put on their alter ego and dress up for the run!

Cash prizes for top 20 runners in the 10KM Super Run category (Men's and Women's open). There will also be Best Dress Award (Male & Female) and also Best Group Photo.
