Media Release: PUMA Announces CARA DELEVINGNE as the New Face Of the ‘DO YOU’ Women’s Campaign

Global Sports Brand PUMA launches their women’s campaign ‘DO YOU’ which aims to inspire confidence in women everywhere. As part of this campaign, PUMA announces they will be working with international model, actress, and activist Cara Delevingne. She joins PUMA’s growing list of influential female ambassadors including Rihanna, who served as the campaign’s Creative Director.

“To ‘DO YOU’ is to take ownership of yourself and finding the power within that ownership — it's a very powerful statement,” says Cara. “It's about accepting who you are, no matter your faults. ‘DO YOU’ is about finding your truth and sticking to it. I think it's so special because it means something different for everyone. It specifically encourages people to be themselves.”

Cara embodies the PUMA Woman. She is fearless, always finding new ways to express herself and use her body as a catalyst for conversation. Her unapologetic attitude and inspiring defiance of the status quo will set the tone for this campaign. She leads the pack of strong women appearing in this campaign, including Mimi Staker and Olivia Boisson of the New York City Ballet, German track and field athletes Alexandra Wester and Tatjana Pinto, and Cuban volleyball players Leila Consuelo Ortega Martinez and Lianma Flores Stable.

The campaign was inspired by Rihanna who once said “I dare myself to make things work. I don’t do things for the response or controversy. I just live my life.” The campaign inspires women to stay true to themselves, make their own rules, and never take ‘no’ for an answer. It creates a conversation that encourages women to be confident, motivated, and never willing to compromise on anything from their personal style to their workouts to their life. Given Rihanna’s own belief on this message, it made perfect sense to bring her on board with PUMA to creative direct the campaign featuring Cara.

The ‘DO YOU’ campaign launches this month with a cross-category product assortment dropping through December from PUMA’s Running & Training and Sportstyle collections.

Cara will be featured in outdoor advertising, PUMA stores and retailers, and PUMA.com. Follow @PUMAWomen and @PUMA for the latest on the campaign.

This is the second consecutive year of the event, with AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad (AAGI) as the title sponsor. The run comprised of 3 categories: 12km Open; 6km Beginner; and 3km Family run. We always see prevention as the best form of protection, therefore awareness and education are important. Through events like today, we hope to raise awareness among all Malaysians that environmental conservation is everyone’s responsibility, and we should all do our part by practicing this in our daily habits. Small efforts like turning off the lights when you are not in the room, can go a long way in saving our planet. Doing this while also living a healthy lifestyle will benefit everyone in the long run,” said Emmanuel Nivet, Chief Executive Officer of AAGI.

Media Release: Nike Air Zoom Structure 20

As the United States running boom (initiated in the ’70s) advanced, athletes’ footwear needs evolved and diversified. These realities paired with a greater understanding of over-pronation (the foot rolling inward upon ground strike) led Nike to answer a call for a running shoe with greater stability. The Nike Air Structure, Nike’s most stable silhouette, debuted in 1991.

Since its introduction, the Nike Structure line has earned legions of fans ranging from elite athletes — like long-distance champion Galen Rupp, who has worn iterations of the shoe for the past 16 years — to everyday runners to off-duty athletes who are drawn to the silhouette’s distinctive style.

With the dawn of its 20th iteration, the Nike Air Zoom Structure 20 compiles insights from past styles to introduce the line’s most-advanced design to date.

The Nike Air Zoom Structure 20 launches on 29th September, and will be available at Nike stores in MidValley, Pavillion, and KLCC and is priced at RM479.

25 Reasons To Enjoy The Wondrous Wheatgrass

Who would have thought that the innocuous, delicate little wheatgrass could pack such a powerful punch when it comes to health benefits?

Wheatgrass is the young grass of the common wheat plant called triticum aestivum, an incredible edible grass that can be juiced into a “wheatgrass shot,” or milled down into a fine green powder that’s used to create a multipurpose product for both humans and animals.

Lots of testimonies and studies have emerged over the years on the benefits of consuming raw wheatgrass juice for health conditions including the common colds and coughs, constipation and colitis, skin conditions, infections and inflammations. It is also increasingly being researched for heart diseases and cancer.

“Wheatgrass is an amazing superfood due to its many health properties and curative powers,” says pharmacist Ling Mooi Li, founder of popular premium fresh fruit juice and smoothies company Juice Works Malaysia.

“Wheatgrass contains a rich supply of chlorophyll and helps to fights free radicals ravaging our bodies. It is also a natural source of vitamins A, C, E, K and B; minerals and enzymes including iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, zinc and amino acids.

“Although wheatgrass is popular today, it is not a new fad, as ancient civilisations dating back centuries have consumed it raw. Our forefathers have realised the immense benefits even then as a nutrient-dense plant food.”

Juice Works is the first in Malaysia to offer pure and wholesome wheatgrass that are freshly harvested and juiced on the spot upon orders, and served in small shots with a wedge of orange to balance its slightly bitter taste, or added into a juice or smoothie.

The wheatgrass offered by Juice Works Malaysia are grown and harvested right before the customer to preserve the rich supplies of living enzymes in each blade of grass.

“I’d advise a slow and steady start should you wish to incorporate wheatgrass in your daily diet,” says Ling.

“Just take one ounce a day and gradually build it to two ounces. But because wheatgrass is so potent, all you really need is just two ounces a day to enjoy its many benefits. It’s also best to take it on an empty stomach where it could be better absorbed.”

Race Recap: Ortho Run 2016

We signed up for Ortho Run because it’s a rare chance to have running event so close to home – within walking distance.  An extra hour of beauty sleep for us. Heheh!

A video posted by runwitme (@runwitme) on

Ortho Run is organised for the first time by the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhkriz, UKKMMC in conjunction of their 40th anniversary. The run also aims to collect some fund for the renovation of the Orthopaedic Ward and spread awareness about the importance of taking care of one’s limbs especially the feet.

The route took us to the hilly parts behind HUKM into Taman Midah before making a big round of outside the perimeter of Taman Tasik Permaisuri.

It's always a good run if you can spot Lucozade at the drinking station! Love the tangy orange flavour that refreshes the tired body.

We like the big and prominent signages. The distance markers are quite accurate too, according to our Nike+ Run Club app.

We had to be extra cautious when running on the roads because we were sharing with the other motorised vehicles. It is impossible to fully close the road because the run was organised in a residential area. The fact that there is a Pasar Tani every Saturday near the tasik area adds to the congestion of the roads. Perhaps, the run can be organised on a Sunday instead - less cars, better run.

The traffic police and road marshall were doing a good job controlling the traffic! Thank you!

We were quite happy when we were about to reach the gate of HUKM. Our running app showed on 9km covered. The run must be under distance, we thought. But nope, we got it wrong. We had to run around the HUKM compound which is built on a slope.

Oh, now we get it! "Save the limbs" means save them for the last km. Heheh!

And finally we reached the finish line and our GPS showed 10km on the dot!

There were some free health check and consultation provided by HUKM after the run.

Congrats to all the winners!

We heard some commotion near the finish line when we were busy snapping photographs of the winners. We saw a beggar being chased by a good looking man.

It turned out to be a movie shoot. The title is not revealed but we heard it will be released for Chinese New Year next year. Are we going to be in the movie? Well, probably some of you are! Watch out for it!

More than 1,200 runners too part in the Ortho Run. Congratulations to the organisers for a job well done. We hope that this run will be organised annually. We would love to see some running clinics or talks by the experts from the Orthopaedic Department on foot care and injury prevention prior to the run. Yes! Save the limbs!
