News: Multi-Purpose Insurans Run 2012

The run will take place on Sunday, 8 January 2012, at Padang Merbuk, Jalan Parlimen, Kuala Lumpur; the first kick start for Year 2012 Running Calendar in Malaysia.

The Multi-Purpose Insurans Run marks a significant history in the general insurance industry as MPIB is the pioneer general insurance company organizing a public run in Malaysia. It is the 1st time MPIB is organising a public run but targets to make the Multi-Purpose Insurans Run a regular feature in the annual Malaysian Running Event Calendar.

The theme for this Run is based on “Healthy Lifestyle” and with this 1st Run, MPIB aims to make running a sustainable healthy recreational activity among its staff, associates, business partners and in the course of it, connect with the growing running enthusiasts in our country.

First time runners are encouraged to participate in “My First Running Clinic” to be conducted by Runners Malaysia, The concept of My First Run Clinic is to help individuals who are now not running to take up running as a sustainable healthy recreational activity. It will be held at Bukit Aman Car Park, Taman Tasik Perdana, Jalan Tanglin, every Saturday at 7.30am from 8 October 2011 to 31 December 2011, a 3 months program. On certain Saturdays, after the run at about 8.30am, selected speakers will be invited to give a talk to impart knowledge on running.

The fun and challenge route distances of 6km and 12km respectively are specially designed for all runners; from first time runners to running enthusiasts. The winners’ prize packages are worth a total of RM25,000.00 in New Balance product vouchers.
