It will be the first time ever a run is being held on the BRT elevated guideway. The BRT Sunway Line is a bus rapid transit (BRT) line that is part of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System servicing the southeastern suburbs of Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.



This line is operated by Rapid Bus and was introduced in 2015 to service the high-density areas of Sunway and Subang Jaya. The BRT buses have an exclusive right-of-way on an elevated guideway that is not shared with normal road traffic.



Fully elevated with a distance of 5.4km, the BRT-Sunway Line serviced by 15 environmental-friendly buses, seven stations, including one with ‘Park n Ride’ facilities and a depot, began operations on June 1, 2015.

CUCMS Debuts it’s #1 SUPERHERO FUN RUN



Cyberjaya, 21 February 2017 – CUCMS’ Pharmacy Student Society will be hosting a SUPERHERO Fun Run on Saturday 18th March. The very first creative run by Cyberjaya University College aims to promote healthy lifestyle amongst Malaysians that is aligned with government’s initiative in educating the importance of practicing healthy lifestyle.

Over 500 participants are expected to join this unique event and participants will get a certificate, medal, t-shirt and a running bib. Runners are encouraged to wear their favourite superhero costumes and it will be a memorable run to have runners including adults and children impersonate their superhero.

The run is organised as part of the township’s 20th anniversary and participants can register for the run by contacting the organiser from CUCMS, Ms. Sofea (+6019 355 5371) or Mr. Redza (+6013 994 1614). There are still plenty of slots for more runners, don’t miss this opportunity to join the fun in Cyberjaya.

This effort is in line with the University’s motto, ‘Nurturing Passion to Care’ and CUCMS encourages students to be active and creative simultaneously. It is also to give an exposure to our students and develop them in a holistic members of society that can contribute positively.

Malaysia Women Marathon 2017 still going strong and descends into Shah Alam once again on 5 March 2017



14th February 2016, Shah Alam - The much-anticipated event that has drawn women by the thousands every year is back again with its 5th edition. This would be the 5th year, the annual event will be taking place since it first began in 2013. MWM has given the opportunity for women to grow from strength to strength, both emotionally and physically.

The race has seen women who started with running the 10km distance, every year progressing to further their distance and trying the 21km and some even attempting the 42km within these five years. These women have also testified that MWM has given them confidence and courage to run the longer distance with their guidance through their running clinics and workshops. They also gain the support and encouragement from fellow women runners and have built many lasting friendships through MWM.

This year the race has added some new categories to include children and men. Children aged 6 to 9 years old (Group 1) and 10 to 12 years old (Group 2) will be running the distance of 2.5km with guides, while the 13 to 15 year olds can test their mettle on the 5km run.

There are also several categories of prizes that have been adjusted to make the race more lucrative and include all participants. The event will begin on the 3rd of March for race kit collections and there will also be an expo with talks and other on-going activities for two days leading up to the actual race on the 5th of March. There will be stores selling running merchandise as well. The expo will be held at Acappella Suite Hotel,

Shah Alam from the 3rd to the 4th of March and on the race day, 5th of March there will be fair with food trucks and other stalls at the Shah Alam Stadium where the race begins and ends.

To make the 5th Edition even more memorable, Her Royal Highness, DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin will be joining in for the 6KM fun run flag-off session.



“We are very honoured to have our queen presence during the flag-off, with all the women. It really lifts our spirits and gives us the encouragement. It also shows us that Selangor truly supports women not only in marathons but overall,” said MWM Race Director, Ms. Karen Loh.

"We are very grateful to all the sponsors who have given their support and contribution in making the 5th edition of ‘The Malaysia Women Marathon’ a great success. We hope to see many more women picking up their running shoes and joining us next year. With the support of sponsors, we will continue to organise a running event just for women in Selangor,” added Karen Loh. She was at the launch with other VIPs and sponsors including, Chairman Standing Committee Tourism, Consumer Affairs & Environment Of Selangor, YB Puan Elizabeth Wong, who is also a runner who had participated in previous MWMs, running the 10KM event.

“We totally support this event, in fact it is one of our main events on our calendar for Selangor. It is especially encouraging when you hear the feedback we receive from the runners and women who have participated in the race asking us to continue this event and improve it for the following year. It brings good coverage abroad and also many international runners have joined in recent years, proof that MWM is gaining much international recognition,” said YB Puan Elizabeth Wong.

Tourism Selangor saw the potential in this event and had from the very beginning supported MWM. “We are very pleased that MWM has chosen to continue its event here in Selangor. We hope that it will continue to do so as it brings women from all over the country and many from overseas,” said Puan Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din, General Manager of Tourism Selangor.

Registration is open for the marathons for four categories, Full Marathon (42KM), Half Marathon (21KM), 6KM Run, Children’s Run (2.5km & 5km) and 5KM Fun Run. Some 5000 participants are expected to join this year. Prizes for the run this year include cash prizes and attractive product vouchers worth RM42, 000.00, provided by sponsors.

Electric Run 2017 is back for the third year running in Malaysia with a Recharged concept and a new venue



Kuala Lumpur 14 Feb 2017 - One of the world’s most popular nocturnal fun run is set to light up Malaysia again this year in what will be its biggest, brightest, neon coloured night run in the country yet on April 15 at Anjung Floria Putrajaya. Organized by The Livescape Group, and co-presented by Rexona, Electric Run Malaysia 2017 is also supported by Malaysia Major Events (MME). The 5km night time fun run this year is set to attract over 18,000 runners of all ages.

Electric Run Recharged

The run this year features a couple of added changes with the most prominent being the Recharged concept. This year, participants at the Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will each be receiving a limited edition PIX Mob Bracelet in addition to the official race tee, finisher’s medal and race bib. The bracelet illuminates various neon lighted themes across multiple zones throughout the race course to provide runners with a more immersive experience. The race course is set to transport runners through a light and sound journey through time, with each zone representing a unique colour theme and music era.

Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will feature eight Course Lands (one more than last year). The eight Course Lands are:
• The Start Line
• Yellow Zone - featuring the sounds of the 60s and 70s
• Red Zone – featuring the sounds of Hip Hop
• Black & Pastel – featuring the sounds of Top 40s Pop Music
• Green Zone – featuring the thumping sounds of Electronic Dance Music
• Two Mystery Lands – surprise Course Lands
• The Finish Line / Celebration Stage

After crossing the finish line, runners will end their run at a celebration stage where a post-race concert featuring internationally renowned artistes will be held. The line-up of artistes will be announced by mid-March.



A new family-friendly venue

The third Electric Run Malaysia also sees the race moving to Putrajaya. The flag off and finish line takes place at Anjung Floria Putrajaya with runners then being taken on a scenic route of Putrajaya where on April 15, will be transformed to a city of neon-themed lights. With approximately 18,000 runners expected to take part this year, organisers, The Livescape Group has decided to move the run this year to a space that can cater to larger numbers.



A more convenient run

For the first time ever, Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will also be providing a race pack delivery service in collaboration with SkyNet to registered participants. The optional service can be added on upon registration with minimal fees. This service also caters to participants travelling to Electric Run Malaysia 2017 from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.



Electric Run Malaysia 2017 takes place at Anjung Floria, Precinct 4, Putrajaya on 15 April 2017. Each registration is priced at RM78 (limited Early Bird), RM88 (Group of 4), and RM98 (Individual, Regular). Children under the age of five do not have to register but does not receive a race pack. All prices listed excludes RM4 ticket processing fee and 6% GST. Registrations can be done via www.electricrun.my.
