Bottles strewn all over after a few gulps - What a waste! 
Apart from wastage, these bottles posed serious hazards to runners by making the road very wet and slippery. Furthermore, runners might trip on the the tiny plastic caps or the bottles on the road.
The volunteers who opened the bottles would have one bigger arms by end of the marathon. Heheh!
