This is Ummi Nazeera. Love the bling bling bag that she was holding for the running pose! She did it so elegantly on a pair of killer heels too. I think those are Louboutins.
We caught up with her at the premiere of "Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa" (The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines) at Cathay Cineplex, e-Curve on 7 March 2011. She was back for a holiday cum promotional tour for Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa from Melbourne.
Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa is the first Malaysia big budgeted action packed epic. KRU Studio is doing the local movie industry a boost and elevate themselves to the level of real players in the international film market. It is awash with lavish set, elaborate costumes and a great sense of granduer of the ancient kingdom, where two great civilisations from Rome and China met.
Ummi Nazeera plays Embok, a native girl who becomes Merong Mahawangsa's love interest and later queen of the kingdom, Langkasuka.
I must say I am VERY impressed with the movie. It is action-packed with stunningly choreographed fights and a bloody body count that equals the movie 300. I am not sure what is the rating of this movie but some scenes are quite gory for children, like head decapiting and throat slitting war scenes.
Stephen Rahman-Hughes - muscular, testosterone infested and looks great with a wig - all you need to make a titular ancient hero! Check out his running pose HERE.
Norman Abd Halim of KRU Studios.
Sharifah Amani. She doesn't have a starring role in the movie. But she is involved in the movie as assistant stunt director. She is also romantically link with Gavin Stenhouse, who plays the Roman prince.
Nani all ready for the action!
The director of Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, Yusry Abd Halim.
A popular local Chinese singer and movie maker, Ah Niu also attended the premiere. He was seen giving a DVD if his movie, Ice Kacang Puppy Love to Norman Abd Halim. A potential collaboration in the future?
Edry Abd Halim of KRU Studios.
Dashing singer, Anuar Zain who contributed his "action-packed" vocals to the theme song for Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, Sedetik Lebih.
If you are looking fo actions, this movie doesn't disappoint. There is a little bit of romance thrown too but nothing that raises the hormones. LOL!. Overall, I love the movie - with good acting, beautiful cinematography, excellent action sequences, nicely integrated CGI, and everything needed to make for a fine movie watching experience. Two thumbs up for KRU Studios!

ReplyDeleteHMM was actually written because Sultan Mudzafal Shah wants his 'anak cucu' to know why he converted to Islam! The stories abt Nabi Allah Sulaiman and Sheikh Abdullah were all true!
Things are now getting clearer and clearer with archaeological research in Sg Batu going on.
