Press Release: Puma BioWeb Elite Running and Training Shoe

Puma Brings Nature’s Work of Art into their Latest Introduction, the Puma BioWeb Elite Running and Training Shoe Visually stunning, extremely comfortable, and performance enhancing, the Puma BioWeb Elite running and training shoe takes nature’s inspiration to the next level

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA; JANUARY 9 2013 – This season, PUMA introduces the BioWeb Elite, a running and training shoe engineered to deliver maximum cushioning and stability through an innovative cage design similar to a spider’s web that wraps the foot, delivering a fresh new look in performance.

People all over the world have long admired the incredible strength and durability of the spider web. Perfectly designed for optimal toughness and durability, these remarkable structures are also incredibly flexible and pliable. This natural work of art has inspired the team at Puma to study the intricate details behind this unique feature, leading to the creation of the revolutionary new Puma BioWeb Elite.

The BioWeb Elite is distinctive through the unique web like design that is carried into the actual tooling of the shoe, offering seamless style and functionality from top to bottom, dubbed the WebCage. The WebCage upper employs injected PU overlays: high strength-to-weight material which offers lightweight and flexible support that is strong and durable, much like a spider web. The result is a perfectly aligned, lightweight, web-like structure with breathable mesh-flex that bends with the foot when in motion without sacrificing strength and durability.

However, the web concept doesn't stop with the upper. This design carries into the mid- and outsole construction. It features a flexible TPU heel wrap that absorbs the impact and discomfort associated with heel strike. The heel counter fuses with a solid rubber outsole that houses strategically placed flex grooves to deliver flexibility and a smooth ride whether running, jogging, walking, or training. This supportive heel wrap provides all the impact protection needed while delivering all the cushioning required by performance runners.

Visually stunning, extremely comfortable, and performance enhancing, the Puma BioWeb Elite takes natural inspiration to the next level. This shoe offers a complete experience for athletes who live for action both in and out of the game. Not only does it perform at an advanced level, it looks great to help you feel confident, no matter the level of activity. Puma has brought the nature of performance to yet another level with the BioWeb Elite.

Press Release: Nike Flyknit Lunar1+

Second skin fit and ultra-soft Lunarlon combine in Nike Flyknit Lunar1+

Performance technology is engineered to give runners the perfect run - every stitch, every stride.

Runners lacing up in preparation for the spring race season won’t make sacrifices. They need a shoe that fits perfectly to take on the miles, has enough structure to feel supportive, offers cushioning for amazing comfort – and sports some style on top of it all. With this inspiration, the lightweight Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ brings the virtually seamless upper using Nike Flyknit technology together with the plush, responsive cushioning of Lunarlon.

Since its launch in February 2012, Nike Flyknit technology has redefined the development and creation of footwear with its ability to be engineered to provide a more precise fit for the specific needs of the foot.

Support and structure are knitted right into the Nike Flyknit upper, which helps reduce seams, weight and areas of friction and keeps the shoe lightweight. This spring the Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ provides support, flexibility and breathability with a more cushioned midsole – a great solution for everyday runners.

The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ combines Nike Flyknit with plush, responsive Lunarlon. The resilient foam provides ultra-soft cushioning, and springy response and support. The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ has a neutral platform that benefits a wide array of runners looking for a responsive and well-cushioned shoe.

Strategically placed durable rubber inserts in the outsole deliver maximum impact protection in key areas on the heel and forefoot. The upper incorporates dynamic Nike Flywire, adaptive support that tightens and relaxes to accommodate the natural motion of the foot.

Nike Flyknit construction also eliminates the need for the multiple materials and material cuts used in the uppers of traditional sport footwear manufacturing. This revolutionary construction reduces waste by an average of 80 percent in the Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ when compared to typical Nike running footwear.

Men

Nike Flyknit was created for performance in world-class marathon events, and many elite runners have crossed the finish line in the Nike Flyknit Racer, part of the first Nike Flyknit collection. The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ expands the franchise to the everyday runner, offering a bright color palette to make sure runners look as great as they feel on the road.

Women

The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ will be available beginning in February and will retail for RM529 and will only be available at the following Nike stores:
• Nike Store, Mid Valley Mega Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
• Nike Store, Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
• Nike Store, Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Celebrunner: Ella, Imran Ajmain, Dato' Khadijah Ibrahim & Zainal Abidin @ PEKA Save Our Rainforest Race Press Conference

This time, we are going to feature not one, but four celerunners in one blog post. And they are all ready for the coming Save The Rainforest Race which will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at Chamang Waterfall in Bentong, Pahang.

We've got Malaysia's rock queen - Ella, legendary songstress Dato' Khadijah Ibrahim, soulful teddy bear Imran Ajmain and the greenest singer in Malaysia - Zainal Abidin doing their best running poses. :)

The four celebrities were present at the press conference held yesterday at Hard Rock cafe Kuala Lumpur. They were also joined by actress Sharifah Sofea and national sportsman and sportswomen - Zandra Aziela (bowling), Shaharudin Jamalidin (Karate-do)and Chai Fong Ying (Wushu).

Nature-loving participants must form groups of a minimum of 2 persons and register online at the PEKA Website with a fee of RM80 per person.

On race-day, event organiser opens booths for new registrations and pre-registered participants at 7.30 am. Upon registration, teams are given their ‘race packs’ which includes contestant numbers, sponsored t-shirts, a sapling tree and meal packs for breakfast and lunch.

Team’s jumpstart the half-day event at 8.30 am with a 5km hike up the hill equipped with their race packs. Participants will gain an up-close and personal experience with nature through jungle trekking along the “Save Our Rainforest” trail.

The competing nature lovers will also learn to understand and appreciate the natural environment better by finishing activities/tasks at 5 different challenge check-points located along the trail.

Arriving at the top of the hill, teams will then have to plant their sapling trees at allocated spots. After the ‘tree planting’, teams will have to race down the hill to the finish line. Photos: Neelofa Wears Nurita Harith Controversial Dress?

This post has nothing to do with running. But it is a treat for you guys Neelofa fans for making our Celebrunner Neelofa blog post the most viewed since we started blogging. Her running pose HERE has garnered over 37,000 views alone!

So, we thought you might be interested to see more of her. Heheh!

We caught Neelofa on the catwalk yesterday morning wearing a Nurita Harith creation.

We are not sure if this dress was the cause of the controversy between Neelofa and Nurita Harith. Both of them caused a sensation in the Malay entertainment scene when Nurita claimed Neelofa be disrespectful and not professional in her Twitter account.

However both parties kept mum even when Neelofa was spotted wearing Nurita's design during the launch of the "Serlahkan Keayuanmu" campaign for JOHNSON'S ® Body Care range.

So, what do you think of the dress? Adakah "keayuan"-nya terserlah?

Could this dress be the root cause for the controversial tweet?

We are not a fashionista but we think that dress is such a tease!

Nude coloured fabric on Neelofa's chest and back; playfully decorated with lace!

From a far, it kinda gives you the illusion that she is exposing her moneymaking assets. Don't you think, so?

We have a confession to make. We couldn't help staring. LOL!

What was in Nurita Harith's mind when she came up with this design?

We love the other dresses that Nurita created for Almy Nadia, Megan Tan and three other models. Sweet and nice. Like good girls should be. ;)

So, what do you think of Nurita's dress for Neelofa?

Do leave your comments below! Thanks!

Exclusive: Interview with M. Zulkifli on the completion of Larian 40 Taman

Larian 40 Taman concludes with final run at Taman Tasik Lembah Kiara, Tmn Tun Dr Ismail.

We almost couldn’t make it on time to the event as our taxi driver was not able to find the way to the park. Thank God, we managed to find the place after asking around while circling TTDI. We now learned that are three parts of the Kiara park in TTDI – the bukit (hill), the rimba (forest) and the tasik (lake).

It was the final leg of the run started by the MHI (Malaysia hari Ini) talk show host, M. Zulkifli (aka M. Zul) early 2012. The event was beamed live on the MHI program, featuring the two other hosts - Nadia Annuar and Ally Iskandar.

The show also featured National top marathon runner, Shaharudin Hashim, dispensing tips on our favourite topic, what else if it is not running? :)

Don't forget to warm up before your run!

3.2.1....Here we go! These guys must be real lucky because never before a running event was beamed live on national TV! Congrates! Congratulations!

M. Zul was joined by around 30 runners in his final 1km run for Larian 40 Taman around the park. Also present at the event - From left: Datuk Kamal Khalid, COO, Shared Services, Television Networks MPB; Siti Nurlisia bt Mohd Nadzri, GM Mass Market TV3; Sherina Nordin Group GM TV3 & TV9, Airin Group GM 8TV & ntv7, Idzrona Azrani, BMG TV9 and M. Zul.

Here's an exclusive interview with M. Zul for you, our loyal readers. :)

Where was the first run and where was it held?
The first run was held at Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya, 14 Jan 2012.

How far did you manage to cover in those 40 parks?
118kms

Most memorable run? Where? Why?
At Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, we had the most participants that day, close to 60 people and we ran with another running group called TT Kuda Runners. Part of this group was our national marathoner Shaharuddin Hashim who also led our warmup session and shared with us some running tips.

Toughest run?
Toughest run was at FRIM where we did the run in conjunction with National Forestry Day. It was partly a trail run, and many of us weren't prepared for it. But it was indeed very interesting and eye-opening for everyone involved.

Most beautiful park?
A very tough one since the majority of the parks were very beautiful, but I would say KL's Taman Botani (previously Lake Gardens) is still the most beautiful with a great view, nice facilities and lots of things to explore. I also liked Kota Kinabalu's Perdana Park which is very modern with a nice running track.

What did you learn about yourself having completed this journey of 40 parks?
It was both extremely challenging and rewarding. But I found that setting clear goals would always keep us motivated and determined to fulfill our objectives. And being part of a community that shares the same passion elevates my own ability and resolve. At the halfway point, I actually thought it was almost impossible to complete the project, but I did it!

What’s next?
To be honest, I haven't really decided on the next project. I just want to keep on running and continue encouraging others who have just picked up the activity. I know how difficult it can be to remain motivated, so maybe I will do a monthly gathering of Larian40Taman runners for everyone to keep in touch and continue sharing their running experiences.

Press Release: Multi-Purpose Insurans Run 2013

5,000 Runners kick-started the NEW YEAR at 7:00 a.m. at Padang Merbuk

Kuala Lumpur, 7 January 2013 - There was no better way to start the New Year with a “Healthy Lifestyle-Work Life Balance” resolution then to get up early and join the community run organized by Multi-Purpose Insurans (“MPIB”). MPIB is once again proud to be positioned as the pioneer general insurer in organising a community based public run in Malaysia for two years in a row.

Many arrived as early as 5:00 a.m. to do their warm up and majority of the runners joined the scheduled 15 minutes Aerobics warm up session before the big race. Some seasoned runners were clad in their “lucky” charms to “help” them win the Race and some other fashionista runners arrived in style in their signature costumes like Spiderman and Avatar. Either lady luck was on the Runners’ side or their perseverance and determination had seen them through the victorious achievement of securing the winners’ seats. This year, we are happy to have familiar as well as new faces claiming winners’ title. It was indeed an encouraging response from the community, seeing an increase of participation in the Run.

The 12 km Women categories were the 1st to be flagged off at 7:00 a.m. sharp followed by other categories of the Run. At 7.46a.m., we had the first runner crossing the finishing line and was crowned the champion for 5KM Men Open category. Apart from the serious running categories, there was also 3KM Fun Walk category for those who prefer breeze walking and many family members and friends of the Runners registered to join in the fun. Many of them came as supporters for the Runners and took the opportunity to have an early morning walk. Overall, the 10 categories’ Run was not only participated by the public, but also employees & business associates of MPIB and the main & co-sponsors of the Run.

Apart from staying healthy and fit as a New Year resolution, it was also a dream come true for John (one of our participants) as Cherry had nodded and said yes to his marriage proposal on that day. MPIB would like to congratulate both of them.

30 out of 5,000 participants are students from HELP University Institutions, Sunway University College and Tunku Abdul Rahman College whom are selected beneficiaries of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, New Balance, Sworke and MPIB sponsorship-entrance fees to MPIB Run 2013, Alliance Bank Debit Mastercard, Sworke consumer frames and New Balance running gears, attire & shoes.

100 top runners from the 10 categories walked away with prizes sponsored by New Balance (product vouchers), Sworke polarised sunglasses sponsored by PDS Safety
(M) Sdn. Bhd, Cartons of isotonic drinks contributed by H-Two-O and 10 Pilates Private Sessions & One month Pilates Unlimited Group Mat Classes (Only for champions of the categories).

Mr. Ong Kok San, the Chief Executive Office from MPIB said “We would like to thank all runners, main sponsors, co-sponsors. the Organizing Committee, Volunteers and all those involved in the Run for making the Run a success and congratulations to all winners from the ten categories. We look forward to their participation in the Multi-Purpose Insurans Run 2014 on 5 Jan 2014.

See you again on the 1st Sunday of 2014!”
