CENTRO KLANG RUN Flags Off on 23 June 2013

Calling all runners! Centro Klang Run 2013 is back again celebrating its 5th year in a row! Organized by Centro Mall and to be held on 23 June 2013, the registration for the event is now officially open to everyone!

Making its mark as the iconic running event in Klang, the Centro Klang Run sees increases of participants from year to year. This year we are expecting a record 3,500 runners with ever growing support and a strong sports and health focus by the participants.

The theme for the run is ‘Klang Heritage Trail’. Runners will run through several historical sites in Klang i.e. Little India Street, Kampung Kuantan, The Royal Gallery, Klang Railway Station, Istana Alam Shah and Klang Power Station. These landmarks have been specifically incorporated into the running route to make the run more interesting and educational.

This event is open to runners of all ages; from budding runners at the age of 4 years old till the golden age of 50 years old and above. There will be 9 categories from 12km, 6km to 800m for Family Fun Run. Runners must also be Malaysian citizens.

Following on from the encouraging response of the inaugural Kids Dash last year, Centro Mall is proud to introduce a parent and child category called Family Fun Run this year. This category is open for children aged between 4 - 9 years old who can run with an accompanying parent. Hoping to encourage children to practice a healthy and active lifestyle from young, we would also like to promote parent child bonding and team spirit amongst the family. Parent and child who sign up for the Family Fun Run will receive a limited edition ‘bonding’ running vest bearing the icon of a child and an adult.

Organized for the 5th year in a row and in partnership with the Klang Pacers Athletic Club (KPAC), the run is scheduled on the following:

Date : 23 June 2013 (Sunday)
Time : Flag off time at 6.45 am (Reporting at 5.45am)
Starting/Ending Point : Centro Mall, No. 8, Jalan Batu Tiga Lama, 41300 Klang

Registration/ Closing Date : Limited to 3,500 entries only.
Early-Bird registration ends 30 April 2013.
Normal registration closes on 30 May 2013.

Qualifying finishers will receive a custom-made finisher's pewter medal and certificate. Runners will also not go back empty handed as they will receive a limited edition New Balance running t-shirt and goody bag filled with valuable cash vouchers & goodies!
