Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2013 introduces MYLAPS Timing System



Timing a race can be a challenging task when they are hundreds even thousands of people involved in the race. Big races like Standard Chartered Marathon (SCKLM) utilizes a type of timing technology to measure start, split and finish times for every athlete from the moment they pass the start to the moment they pass the finish?

There are many timing system out there in the market. You guys and girls probably familiar with ChampionChip and D-tag whereby you attach the timing chip device on your shoes.

This year, SCKLM will be introducing a new system called MYLAPS. FYI, MYLAPS BibTag system was first launched in NYC Marathon in 2010.

The timing tag is integrated onto the back of the race bib and protected with a piece of foam. So, there is no need for you to tie the timing device onto your shoes. All you need to do is attach the bib to your chest as usual. After the race, you can take the BibTags home, or dump it responsibly into the garbage bin.



How It Works?

MYLAPS BibTag system offers RFID timing with UHF technology. It will record the time when you cross the modular mats at the start, check points and the finish line.

MYLAPS BibTag Timing System will be used to provide Official and Personal Times. Results will be based on the Official Times (Gun Times) in accordance with IAAF Standards.

Official Time / Gun Time: The time from the sound of the starter's signal to the time when the runner crosses the finish line.

Net Time / Chip Time : The time from when the runner crosses the starting mats at the start line, to the time when the runner crosses the finishing mats. It is for personal reference only.



Precaution
Incorrect use and wrong positioning of BibTags:
- BibTags fall off from the Bibs
- BibTags have been folded
- Purposely damaging the BibTags before the race
- Did not step on the Mats set up at Start / Split / Finish location(s)
- Use of Tags are not supplied by MYLAPS BibTag Official Timers
