Press Release: ntv7 Feel Good Run 2013 to proceed as scheduled!
The Haze is Gone...The ntv7 Feel Good Run’s ON!
With the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings that have dropped by as much as 10 to 40 points in most areas including Petaling Jaya at 33, the ntv7 Feel Good Run 2013 held at Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama, will proceed as scheduled to celebrate ntv7’s 15th anniversary on 7 July, this Sunday.
The decision has been made by its committee members following the significant improvement of the air quality in the peninsula as reported by the Department of Environment. For health precautions, the organiser will be taking additional measures to ensure that runners are well taken care of during the run.
With an expected 5,700 runners, the Feel Good Run 2013 will be graced by YB Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia during the flag-off sessions of the run.
“The ntv7 Feel Good Run 2013 committee has been keeping a close watch on the haze situation in the country and thankfully, it has taken a turn for the better,” says Airin Zainul, Group General Manager of ntv7 & 8TV.
An avid runner herself, Airin couldn’t agree more that with the current healthy state, runners are definitely going back to their regular running routine. “Most runners have been staying indoors for the past two weeks due to the unhealthy API readings. With the current clear blue sky, runners will be even more pumped up than before to RUN,” says Airin.
“Aside from the runners who will be present on 7 July, the public are also invited to join in the celebration of ntv7’s 15th anniversary. There will be lots of activities and stage performances for the entire family happening at the finishing area at Central Park, Bandar Utama, such as lucky draw sessions, fundraising activities, food & beverage and many more,” Airin adds.
There will also be more than 80 celebrities running – the highest number of celebrity participation so far for any run held in the country. Amongst the celebrities who will be sweating it out on 7 July are Fara Fauzana, Hafiz Hatim, Low Ngai Yuen, Thanuja Ananthan, Nazrudin Rahman, Aishah Sinclair, Sasha Bashir, Charles Mohan, Jasmine Abu Bakar, Adam Zain, Baki Zainal, Debbie Goh, Frederick Lee, Leslie Chai, Adrian Tan and many more.
All proceeds from the run will be channeled equally to four beneficiaries – Hospis Malaysia, Malaysian Rare Disorders Society, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Budriah and SPCA Selangor.
