Press Release: HOPE worldwide Malaysia kicks off FIFA inspired BOLATHON
Kuala Lumpur, 6 May 2014 – HOPE worldwide Malaysia announced its third Bolathon Event to be held on 1 June 2014 recently. Dubbed as the one-and-only ‘Charity Masquerade Walk’ in Malaysia, the fundraising event is organised once every four years to coincide with FIFA World Cup. Running on the success, the 2014 event will include an additional 10 kilometre run and expects to draw more than 3000 football aficionados and enthusiasts.
Owing to its football theme and popularity as a unique family-friendly 3km masquerade walk, Bolathon has had encouraging participation from Malaysians of all ages. Previous Bolathon held in 2010 saw an array of colourful, creative and outrageous home-made costumes.
Beaming with excitement in launching the event, Darick Wong, Country Director of HOPE worldwide Malaysia said “the proceeds of the Charity Masquerade Walk will be directed towards the implementation of Health, Nutrition and Education programs such as Free Health Clinics, Reading and Food distribution for underprivileged communities. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors like Adidas, Golden Screen Cinemas, Hyundai, Starbucks, Gatorade and others who have been instrumental in developing our capacity to facilitate programs for the benefit of underprivileged communities.”
