Media Release: FOX Sports launches FixMyCourt effort to revamp worn out community-based sports grounds
IT'S GAME-ON AS WORN OUT COMMUNITY GROUNDS GET FACELIFT
Kuala Lumpur, 5 January 2016 – FOX Sports Malaysia has launched the brand new community enhancement efforts in refurbishing and revamping community-based sports grounds today.
The campaign, aptly named FixMyCourt aims give back to the local community by revamping public courts to allow a greater appreciation and love of the game. It will also promote and support sporting development from the community level as well as encourage a healthier way to spend time amongst the youth.
Believing that the fundamentals of sports are to be enjoyed among friends at the public parks or courts, Penny Tan, Marketing Director of FOX International Channels said, “FOX Sports recognises Malaysian sports fans as very passionate and the purest love of sports can be seen each evening when local youth engage in friendly games around their communities.”
“However, a significantly large amount of sporting courts within communities are very worn out and it has presented us an opportunity to uniquely enrich our viewers in the core essence of sports by refurbishing the facilities and providing a safer, more attractive way to enjoy their favourite sporting activities.”
FixMyCourt began recently as submissions for a fixed-up court by all Malaysians are now open. Nominations can be made via Instagram.
Nominees would be required to post a photo of the court’s condition on Instagram with the hashtags #FOXSportsGameOn and #FixMyCourt. Submissions close 13 January 2016.
