Top 5 Reasons You Should Drink Your Fruit Juice Regularly
Whether they're fresh, frozen or canned, consuming more fruit and vegetables is one of the easiest things we can all do for better health and well-being. But fresh is being the best way to get the health benefits of fruit. Let's check out the top 5 reasons why having fresh fruit juice is best for you!

Fruits are not only delicious but healthful too. Rich in vitamins A and C, plus folate and other essential nutrients, they may help prevent heart disease and stroke, control blood pressure and cholesterol, prevent some types of cancer and guard against vision loss.
Vital Naturally
Juices provide boost of energy, prevent diseases and make it easier to maintain optimum body weight. If it's the vitamins that promote good health, you may wonder if you can just pop supplements. Nope. Fresh fruits contain more than just vitamins; they're a complex combination of fibre, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals – as well as the vitamins – that work in combination to provide protective benefits. You can't get all that from a pill.
Gorgeous Skin
Promotes vibrant health at cellular level, helping with metabolism of every organs in your body, including the biggest one - your skin. No matter how many skin care products you apply to the outside of your skin, if you aren’t consuming healthy food to nourish your skin from within, your skin will look dull, unhealthy and undernourished.
Digestion Booster
Soothing and healing effect on the digestive system. Speed up the elimination of toxins and help to fast-track essential nutrients into the bloodstream. Incorporating greens, fruits, and vegetables each day will help to maintain regularity.

Your body is nearly two-thirds water and so it is really important that you consume enough fluid to stay hydrated and healthy. If you don’t get enough fluid you may feel tired, get headaches and not perform at your best. ‘Fluid’ includes not only water from the tap or in a bottle, but also other drinks that give you water such as tea, coffee, milk and fruit juices.

Media Release: Survivors Defy Cancer; Celebrate at Relay for Life, Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2016 - The battle against cancer can be won, as cancer survivors ranging from years to decades will demonstrate at the survivors’ lap at the 10th Relay for Life (RFL) Kuala Lumpur.
On 6 to 7 August 2016, The National Cancer Society will celebrate its 10-year anniversary of the city’s biggest cancer fundraising and awareness event at Dataran Petaling Jaya. Survivors who walked the first ever lap in RFL Kuala Lumpur 10 years ago will continue their tradition this year.
“Apart from celebrating the National Cancer Society of Malaysia’s 50-year anniversary this year, we are also proud to reach 10 years for Relay for Life Kuala Lumpur,” says Dato’ Zuraidah Atan, Chairperson of Relay for Life Malaysia during the press launch held earlier today.
“We often see ‘top ten’ lists on the signs, prevention or coping with cancer. While this knowledge is important to raise cancer awareness, it is also crucial to celebrate our wins to show that cancer isn’t a death sentence. Our 10th RFL is just the right venue for that.”
A global event joined by over 4 million people, RFL invites families, friends, groups, co-workers and classmates to team up and walk around the running track. The overnight celebration that runs for 16 hours in Kuala Lumpur hosts campsites, live performances, on-stage exercises or Zumbathons, carnival style games as well as awareness activities.
Another signature activity is the Luminaria ceremony, in which participants gather and remember loved ones who have lost to cancer, honour those who fought, and support those still fighting.
Survivor Betty Gomes, who has been actively involved since the first RFL, says that the ceremony – along with the survivors’ lap – remains the most meaningful activity to her.
“We see Luminaria bags with inspiring messages and drawings, and they are placed around the Relay track,” she says. “It’s an amazing sight when the candles inside them are lit – you just have to be there to feel its significance.”
Betty recalls sitting at a little table, making call after call to recruit participants for the first Relay, and is amazed by how the event has grown through the years.
“Tears were running down our faces when we walked the first lap, and it is still very emotional for all of us,” she says. “We have lost many friends and gained many new ones through the years, and you can see how participants who were once new grow and move on to help other survivors.
“Mourning and honouring friends lost are only one part of RFL – we also make sure to have a grand time, and will do so at the 10-year anniversary this year. Our ‘day out’ at RFL is exactly how we go through life as survivors – laughing, growing and grieving together.”
“We thank participants, sponsors and fundraisers who have been with us all these years – we couldn’t have made it without you,” Dato’ Zuraidah Atan adds. “Every step counts, so join us once again to celebrate, remember and fight back. Speak to our survivors, be among fellow supporters, and see the difference that you have made.”
Online registrations can be made at relayforlifemalaysia.com.
NCSM is especially grateful to its sponsors Bridgestone, Astro, Vitahealth, Idifynetz, Accenture, Oriental Metal Industries, Brother International, Tune Protect, Credit Guarantee Corporation, Magnum, Magnum Cares and Spritzer.

Media Release: Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore gets facelift to commemorate its 15th Anniversary
SINGAPORE - 7 July 2016– Singapore’s premier running event, Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS), will undergo a facelift with the introduction of key race updates, a new charity partner and a grown-up Kids Dash at Orchard Road.
Managing Director of event organiser Ironman Asia Geoff Meyer shared these updates at the SCMS Launch Roadshow. “Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore is the nation’s largest running event steeped in Singapore’s history, and culture, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to enhance the event experience to commemorate this special year,” said Meyer.
Key Race Changes
For the first time, Orchard Road will be the main starting point for SCMS 2016 – the Kids Dash on 3 December (Saturday), and both Full and Half Marathons on 4 December (Sunday). Sunday’s Race Day will see multiple wave starts for Full and Half Marathons runners based on their estimated finishing time in order to ensure a smoother start.
“Enhancing the SCMS route is one of our priorities for 2016 – we want to improve the overall running experience and alleviate start-line congestion with multiple wave starts,” explained Meyer. “The anniversary year presents the opportunity for us to make improvements based on our runners’ feedback, and introduce new initiatives focused on deepening family and community ties.”
A morning event in 2015, Kids Dash 2016 will now flag off at 6pm outside Ngee Ann City. The popular Orchard Road will be closed for parents and supporters to witness 5,000 kids, aged 13 and under, donning Santa hats and racing amidst the Christmas lights along Singapore’s iconic street.
SCMS: Building a caring and more resilient community together
Since 2002, SCMS has built itself into an inclusive event involving runners and supporters from all walks of life. Over 5,000 volunteers and supporters come together each year to create the unique SCMS experience. SCMS has also made fundraising a key theme of its community engagement programme - Run for a Reason.
SCMS has contributed more than S$270,000 to SportCares, a Sport Singapore initiative established in 2012. Title sponsor Standard Chartered Bank has also raised over S$350,000 for its global charity, Seeing is Believing, and other sight-related charities in Singapore. Over S$2.8 million has been raised via the SCMS platform for local charities and partners including Autism Association of Singapore, Breast Cancer Foundation, Community Chest, Club Rainbow and GiveAsia.
To commemorate its 15th anniversary, SCMS renewed its partnership with Community Chest, inking a 3-year agreement to profile Sharity as its event charity ambassador. As Community Chest’s iconic mascot, Sharity advocates “Caring and Sharing” and raises empathy among the young to care for the less privileged and disadvantaged in our community.
“Standard Chartered has been a title sponsor of the Singapore Marathon since 2002 and this is an event which the Bank and our staff are very proud of. The Bank has always been a champion for employee volunteering and corporate giving, and it make sense to integrate these initiatives in SCMS,” said Judy Hsu, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Singapore. “We look forward to working closely with Community Chest, our runners, supporters and partners to build a sustainable giving culture in Singapore.”
Commenting on this, Minister for Social and Family Development Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, who officiated the launch, said “Mass participation activities like SCMS can shape the well-being of a nation by promoting an active lifestyle, deepening community ties and building the spirit of being caring and resilient. It will help us build a society that cares for the needy, and cultivate the reciprocity of giving back. This is the Singapore society that we are all proud to be a part of.”
Paying tribute to the runners, supporters and volunteers of SCMS
The SCMS Launch roadshow is a 4-day exhibition where visitors can take a walk down memory lane at the marathon’s throwback exhibition. It showcases memorabilia from the past 14 races, including contributions from race ambassadors and loyal runners, and running stories from past and present.
Organisers will also be giving away 100 entry slots and 1,000 anniversary tees to members of the public through on-site activities and lucky draws. Interested runners can also get a free baseline fitness test to help them begin their training journey for the race in December.
Mr Lim Teck Yin, CEO of Sport Singapore shared that “The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore has played a pivotal role in developing the local sporting and running landscape. The Marathon has matured, and we hope to leverage the strong foundations and work closely with new organisers Ironman Asia to enhance the event and race experience.”

OK. OK. The title can be a little misleading. Heheh! But if there were real Super Heroes out there, I bet they would swear on these delicious meals for refuel purposes after a hard day of saving the world.
The recently opened DC Comics Super Heroes Café at the Pavilion, KL offers a wider variery of meals compared to the one in Sunway Putra Mall. Now you can order a complete meal consisting of appetiser, soup and main dish for lunch or dinner.
The cafe is located adjacent to the existing DC Super Heroes boutique on the 5th floor of Pavilion, KL. It's a perfect spot to grab a snack or have a proper meal while shopping! The cosy and brightly lit cafe is welcoming. One of the wall is beautifully adorned with some larger than life images of DC's most popular super heroes.
But of course, everything here is DC Superheores-themed. From the bottled water to the furniture to the food served.
We bet you will have a hard time to choose from the menu! This Pavilion branch offer a wide variety of premium food. Well, the menu is more than the usual burgers and pizzas to satisfy your superhero sized hunger.
Menu-wise, they offer drinks such as sodas, ice blends, shakes, coffee and tea served in a way that would make any superhero proud, emblem and all.
Suicide Cordon Bleu. We reckoned this dish is inspired by the Suicide Squad. Sinfully rich ooey-gooey melted cheese wrapped with chicken meat and deep-fried to a golden perfection. Served with mash potato, coleslaw and pepper sauce. (RM38)
From the Seas of Krypton - A dish guaranteed to make Superman weak in the knees. Wholesome seafood chowder served in a charcoal bread bowl. (RM29)
Penguin's Attack Pack - Warm smoked duck salad served with greens, cherry tomamtoes and raspberry dressing. Drools! (RM29)
Black is the Knight - Squid Ink spaghetti Aglio Olio - Olive oil, onion, garlic, red chili, baby scallops, parsley and fresh basil. Yummeh! (RM33)
Don't forget to leave some room for dessert! Pick from gelato, pancake, crepe, waffle, creme brulee, cakes and more to satisfy your sweet tooth!
