Photo Recap: #RUNWITHME 10K @ Bandar Rimbayu

Runwithme - on my side and by my side. Not only the name of this run is quite similar to our blog name, Runwitme, the philosophy behind it is also about spirit of togetherness, with friends and family by our side as we ran. Last weekend, we joined more than 2,000 runners in the 10K #Runwithme Fun Run organised by IJM Land in Bandar Rimbayu.

Held for the third time, the fun run was flagged off at 6.30am at The ARC, Bandar Rimbayu’s show gallery after a warm-up Zumba session and a hot fire dance performance.

The 10K run, dubbed the Aloha-thon was a Hawaiian-themed run took us into the Bandar Rimbayu residential area with is currently undergoing rapid development. The main focus of this run had shifted from speed, timing and competition to a more laid-back feel. Runners are encouraged to chilled out along the route.

The weather was cool that morning. Despite being cloudy, the sky presented a beautiful sunrise to those who were running in Bandar Rimbayu that morning! Lucky us!

The water stations were well-managed with plain drinking water and ice-cold Lucozade.

This has to be the most beautifully-decorated water station we have seen in our lives.

Since it was still Raya month, we spotted these four runners in their smart baju Melayu.

Runners were encouraged to take breaks from running to enjoy the juicy watermelon and banana in two fruit stations along the route.

Going bananas...

You can call this run anything but boring. The live percussion band gave the needed boost to our steps. Yay!

Each runner had to collect a ribbon at the 5km U-turn.

We were caught in a slight drizzle in the last 3km of the run. However, it did not dampen our spirit as we plodded back to the finish line.

A tropical fruit feast was waiting for us after the finish line where we helped ourselves to the fresh coconut water...

and a juicy array of tropical fruits.

Jackfruit, apples, longans, watermelon, rambutans and mangosteens. We hope they serve durian next year. Heheh!

The Hawaiian-themed photo walls and props provided the runners with plenty of post-race selfies and photo opportunities around the beautiful compound of The Arc.

Participants also had the chance to visit the Bandar Rimbayu's Livia Type A showroom and find out more about Livia Type B homes – which are now open for unit-selection, after the public’s overwhelming response to Livia Type A homes.

RM50 went a long way with #RUNWITHME. Apart from the gorgeous Hawaiian-inspired flower garland medal, every participant was presented with a branded PUMA t-shirt and a bag filled with awesome goodies like a pair of PUMA socks, Munchy's Oat Crunch samples, Sensodyne toothpaste, Scott's DHA Gummies and beauty samples from FACESHOP.

Besides giving positive vibes and the opportunity to run with new and old friends, Run With Me also gives the community a chance to embrace a healthy lifestyle, a philosophy Bandar Rimbayu shares with its property owners through various events. The next exciting event will be Bandar Rimbayu’s Raya Open House on 16 July, from 6pm to 9pm at The Arc. Visitors can look forward to enjoying scrumptious festive delicacies; watch a dance performance and a spectacular 12 minute firework display.
