Kickstart Your Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Training at the SCSM Training Kick-off 2017
17 weeks. 125 days. Time is ticking – it’s time to find those trainers, dust off the cobwebs, and start lacing up for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon this December.
To kick-start your training for the race, The SCSM Training Kick-Off 2017 begins this weekend, where participants can begin training for their race in December. During the weekend, runners can look forward to taking part in pacer runs, get educated on proper training techniques, and participate in heart rate tests.
First-time female participants can also look forward to the kicking-off of the Women’s Squad for SCMS 2017 – an initiative for women, by women.
Held in conjunction with GetActive! Singapore, this initiative will inspire participants to get off the couch, dust off their trainers, and get down to OCBC Square to experience a comprehensive training kick-off program.
Pacers Run
o The public will get to see (and run) with Running Department, the official pacers for this year’s race.
Running Clinics
o Ben Pulham from the Official Training Partner of SCSM 2017, Coached, will be conducting a talk on how to better your training based on heart rate, and will also be busting common marathon myths in the various running clinics that will be conducted over the two days.
Heart Rate Run
o The public can participate in running tests evaluated by Ben Pulham. Following a 3km run around the event area with a Garmin heart rate monitor, runners will be advised on how they can enhance their training based on their individual heart rates.
Women Squad Activation
o For women. By women. Join Cheryl Tay and Under Armour Celebrity athlete Denise Keller kick-start the exclusive Women’s Squad for SCSM 2017 with a HIIT session and 3km run. Runners will also get to test the new Under Armour Bandit 3 long distance shoes – to find their perfect training companion gear for the marathon.
o Register your interest via SCSM Women Squad
Admission to the event is FREE, however, interested members of the public needs to register via SCSM 2017 Training Kick-off.
