The Last LSD in 2018: One "Dead Slow" Run To Bid 2018 Goodbye

Heheh! If you are a regular runner in Desa Parkcity, you would have come across this "Dead Slow" road sign on Jalan Changkati Intisari. I have not seen this road sign anywhere else in Malaysia, have you? This hilly stretch was part of our 24 km LSD this morning.

We gathered near Pelita @ Desa Sri Hartamas at 5am. As usual, Abang Omar didn't let us know where was he taking us. We didn't what surprises in store for us.

So, today's menu was Desa Sri Hartamas - Taman Sri Sinar - Menjalara - Desa ParkCity - Sg Penchala - Taman Tun Dr. Ismail - Bukit Kiara - Desa Sri Hartamas. A total of 24km. Phew!

Didn't take many pics here because the sky was still dark. We ran passed expensive condos in Mont Kiara, before heading to the residential areas @ Taman Sri Sinar and Bandar Menjalara.

While the rest of the gang performed the Subuh prayer at the Masjid Iman Al-Ghazali, I took a breather at the Petronas station, around km-7. Chugged down a bottle of Gatorade Blue Bolt drink and listened to Nirvana while I waited at the rest area next to the station.

From Bandar Menjelara, we traced our run to Desa ParkCity, a luxurious residential area.

Here we worked our way up the Jalan Changkat Intisari.

The houses here are gorgeous.

Nice view from the hilltop, eh?

We stayed at the top for a couple of minutes to enjoy the sceneries before heading down to our next destination.

I am envious of those people living here. They have a great place for hill training in the morning.

All smiles because gravity is doing half the work here.

Welcome to The Mansions.

Fancy names for the fancy housing areas.

This was the first time I had a proper run in Desa ParkCity.  What a great place to run! The hills can provide you with some challenges while rewarding you with some pretty views.

One more for the album.

Next destination: Sungai Penchala.  On top is the North-South Expressway.

What a nice doggy. Thank you for not barking at us even though we were in your territory.

The sun had been hiding behind the clouds. Great weather so far!

I was told this is the old road to get to Damansara from Kuala Lumpur, before the new highways were built.

We had the road to ourselves. The road is flanked by the secondary forest and some fruit orchards.

Not very often you get to see this type of scenery right in the city, eh? A young boy playing with a buffalo.

Madrasatul Islamiah - a small Muslim prayer house located at km-12.

Not sure what this is but it looks like a mini zoo from outside.

Spotted some deers and exotic birds in the enclosure of ZA Art Studio.

Our water station. 10 sen for 500ml.

We had some simian spectators here. LOL!

Pasar Muhibbah Masjid Jamek Tengku Abdul Aziz Shah. I got a little hungry when I ran past this area. The smell of food from the market made my tummy growl.

Next photo stop: Little Rimba, an Instagrammable cafe located in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. Must return to check the cafe out.

Refuelling time at the entrance of Taman Rimba Kiara. Bought a cup of Soya bean drink with brown sugar from the Jenny Hong truck. Tasted pretty good. Perfect for refuelling as it has some brown sugar and proteins.

The sun is up and the lactic acid is building up in the legs. Slowly, we walked up the slope toward TPCKL.

TPC Kuala Lumpur, formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club,

Beautifully landscaped golf club around km-18.

ASICS Gel-Nimbus 20. Read my review HERE.

At this point, everyone had been reduced to a run-walk strategy for the LSD.

One last photo op before we head back to Desa Sri Hartamas.

Slowly working our way along the Sprint - Kerinchi Link.

The rainbow-coloured Pusat Sains Negara on the right.

Almost there! Phew! Our last LSD for 2018. It was all good!

Makan time @ Pelita

Pretty unusual food for breakfast - deep-fried bitter gourd. LOL!

#irunsoicaneat Milo Ais + Roti Telur!
