Turkish Airlines - the new title sponsor for 'KL Tower International Towerthon Challenge 2019’



Kuala Lumpur, 7 March 2019 - KL Tower once again will be hosting the most awaited prestigious and internationally-acclaimed extreme sports event for 2019 - the 'Turkish Airlines KL Tower lnternational Towerthon Challenge 2019' on Sunday, 21 April 2019, starting as early as 5:00am in the morning.

This annual event will be held with the objectives of providing opportunities for the participants to test their physical and mental endurance by conquering the top of KL Tower which is the tallest telecommunication tower in Southeast Asia and the seventh tallest in the world.

“The start location will be changed this year to the bus parking area which is about 200m from the lobby from the previous flag-off venue at the foothill, about 800m away. Thus, participants will spend less time on the road and conserve more energy to climb the 2,058 steps up to the 288m-high tower", said YBhg. Top 100 Finisher T-Shirt

The elites runners will be flagged off in the first wave before the rest of the participants. The first 100 runners with the fastest time to the top will be receiving a special 100 FINISHER T-shirt.

The participants will stand a chance to win the overall cash prizes worth RM44,600. The highest ranked Malaysian in the Men Open and Women Open category will receive an additional cash prize of RM2.000.00 each and a chance to represent Malaysia in the World Tower Running 2020 in an overseas location which to be determined, with all expenses paid for by Menara Kuala Lumpur.

The public is welcome to experience a ride around Kuala Lumpur in a Lamborghini supercar by donating RM100. There will be 15 Lamborghini cars for you to choose from. The donation will be channelled to the selected orphanages and homes for the poor. The experience is made possible by the Lamborghini Owners Malaysia.
