‘NASI MARRYBROWN FAMILY RUN’ Makes A Hit Debut with 3000 Runners

Johor Bahru, 11 December 2019 – After a great and successful 2019, Malaysia’s largest home-grown Halal fast-food restaurant chain Marrybrown began the month of December debuting their very first Nasi Marrybrown Family Run with a bang at Desa Tebrau Linear Park, Johor - receiving vast participation from all walks of life.

More than 3000 participants across Malaysia laced-up their running shoes on an early Saturday morning and joined in the Fun Run to kick-start this highly exciting event by Marrybrown, a strong advocate of bringing loved ones together and harmony within the community while enjoying or conquering an activity that is out of their comfort zone. Nasi Marrybrown Family Run intents to bring families and friends together to enjoy a healthy sport and enrich a fulfilling family day - encouraging each other to appreciate the valuable time with close ones.

“We are constantly on the run, swooping from one task to another, and tend to forget the people around us. Marrybrown is taking this opportunity to gather friends and families in one place through healthy yet meaningful sporting activity, in the hopes that it will create a bond and some good memories with one another,” said Dato’ Joshua Liew, Chief Executive Officer of Marrybrown.

Strongly believing on its core values of fun, food and family, Marrybrown dedicates this Fun Run as a platform to not only strengthen family bonds but also to reinforce community ties, as this popular 5KM run brought together individuals of all ages in the spirit of spontaneity and develop community bonds with those that share the same values as them.

“We believe sporting events are essential for improving social and emotional development, and we are very pleased with the response that we received for our Fun Run. Sporting events as such get people off their smartphones and social media for once, and we’re happy to see families and friends spending quality time with their loved ones.”

Being the first fast food restaurant chain to launch Malaysia’s national dish 30 years ago, Nasi Marrybrown continues to be a dish favoured by Malaysians and to further add to the excitement, runners who completed the Fun Run were treated to a meal of Marrybrown’s ever popular dish, Nasi Marrybrown – a wholesome nasi lemak meal served with Marrybrown Crispy Chicken, and a finisher medal was given to every participant.
