Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 is Back by Popular Demand this October


Kuala Lumpur, 22 March 2024 — Garmin Malaysia today announced the return of the much-anticipated Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 set to take place this October. Embracing the theme ‘From Zero to Hero’, the run aims to challenge participants on another great yet exhilarating run that will push them beyond their comfort zone and encourage them to lead a more active lifestyle. 

Coming back strong for its third year, the Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 - Malaysia will be held on 27 October 2024 at Dataran Putrajaya, starting from 5am onwards. The race categories are 5km, 10km and 21km, featuring exciting prizes that await winning participants. 

Registrations will start from 25 March 2024. 

“The Garmin Run Asia Series is a cross-continental series of running events spanning multiple cities in Asia including Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, Taipei. With recognition in nine prominent Asian cities, we’ve aimed to promote a running culture, encourage healthy lifestyles, and foster diverse connections in Asia. We take pride in witnessing the growing passion for running and staying active within the local communities. In line with our motto of ‘Beat Yesterday’, we empower individuals to exceed their limits with every run, regardless of location” shared Mr. Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager, Garmin Asia. 


Running enthusiasts will also get the exciting opportunity to run side by side with Garmin ambassador for outdoor series, Alif Satar as he joins the run to cheer on his fellow runners. 

“As we step into our third year of the Garmin Run Asia Series in Malaysia, we’re excited for what lies ahead and with Alif on board with us, we anticipate a positive response from participants. This year promises to be even bigger, driven by the growing running culture among Malaysians. With the continued passion of Malaysian fans, we’re expanding our reach further. Alongside our physical run at Dataran Putrajaya in October, we are kicking off the Garmin Asia Virtual Run in August, featuring 10km and 21km categories in the lead up to the Malaysia leg of the Garmin Run Asia Series. It’s all set to be an exciting journey!” added Sheena Sim, Garmin Malaysia Marketing Team Lead. 

The Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 - Malaysia will be open for registration from 25 March 2024 to applicants ages 5 and above for the 5km category, 13 years and above for the 10km category and 18 years and above for the 21km category. Participants below 17 years must be accompanied by an adult above 18 years old. The run is open to participants of all nationalities. Registration fees will start from RM50 for the 5km category for a 72-hour flash sale from 25 March and ends at 11:59pm on 27 March.

Note: Fees are not inclusive of Group Personal Accident Insurance RM4/pax and Delivery Fee. 

The Garmin Asia Virtual Run registration begins on 24 July and runs from 1 till 18 August for both the 10km or 21km categories. Participation is free on Garmin Sports app and is exclusive to Garmin users. 

More details will be provided at a later date. Last year, the Garmin Run Asia 2023 recorded a participation of over 10,000 Malaysians who showed up to beat personal bests and challenge themselves one stride at a time.
