UMWT Announces the Third Edition of TOYOTA START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE OUTRUN, a Charity Run for Cancer Awareness

Shah Alam, 14 May 2024 - UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) proudly announces the third edition of the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun, held under the umbrella of Toyota's global Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign. Set to take place at Dataran Merdeka, this annual charity run continues to draw attention and participation from across the nation, rallying runners for a noble cause while embracing Toyota’s mission of Mobility for All.

Start Your Impossible is a global branding initiative by Toyota Motor Corporation, initiated during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Aligned with this campaign, UMWT hosts the annual Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun, which enhances Toyota's youthful brand image and highlights its role as a leader in innovative mobility solutions. Proceeds from the event are allocated to supporting the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) in its efforts to raise cancer awareness, fund research, and provide vital support services to patients and their families.

Reflecting on the event’s significance, Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT said, "The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun incorporates our dedication to Move Your World. It's not just about encouraging physical activity but rather a platform for fostering social responsibility and empowering individuals to embrace mobility as a catalyst for positive change in our communities. Through this event, we aim to inspire participants to not only push their physical limits but also to recognise the profound impact they can have on society by coming together in support of a worthy cause."

Building on the success of previous years, which attracted more than 4,300 participants, the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun continues to offer race categories suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. This year's event features competitive races, including a 10KM race open to individuals aged 18 and above, where seasoned runners can compete for a portion of the RM50,000 prize pool. In addition to these competitive races, the event will also include a Fun Run category, providing an opportunity for participants of all ages to join in the fun and support a noble cause.

The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun goes beyond competition as it embodies a collective movement towards change. It unites individuals who are driven by a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Rooted in the celebration of the human spirit, this charity event symbolises the power of unity and community in effecting positive societal change.

Registration for the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun remains open until 2 June 2024. All are invited to lace up their running shoes and participate in this meaningful journey towards a cure for cancer, one step at a time.
