Press Release: Batik Fun Walk 2014
Let’s get busy and be creative for a Sunday morning walk !!
Sunday mornings are always the best time for some vigorous exercise! And this year’s 2.3 km walk will surely get the blood pumping.
Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG) is pleased to announce that the Batik Fun Walk will be held on Sunday, 30 November 2014 at 6:30 am at Lanai, Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
The Batik Fun Walk is an annual event of the Malaysia Batik: Crafted for The World Movement. It is good wholesome fun that everyone in the family can take part in and enjoy. Over the past years, this fun event has grown, with added interest from sponsors and walking participants alike.
The Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for the following:
1. Youngest Participant
2. Oldest Participant
3. Largest Group
4. Individual Most Creatively Dressed in Batik
5. Family Most Creatively Dressed in Batik
6. Lucky Draws
The Route
The route for the Batik Fun Walk will be 2.3 km. It will start and end in Lanai, MaTiC. The route will take you down to Jalan Sultan Ismail, then right up to Jalan P. Ramlee and back to Jalan Ampang.
Schedule
6:30 am Registration starts
8:15 am Warming-up Session
8:30 am Flag Off by YB Encik Khairy Jamaluddin Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia
9:15 am Entertainment by ASTRO
10:00 am Prize Giving Ceremony Participation Fee
For a fee of RM15, participants get a batik sarong, a goodies bag of mineral water and buns and the chance to take part in this healthy, fun event. Children under 12 can join free of charge.
In Support Of Penyayang Pesakit Kanser
Participants can help a cause while having fun as proceeds from the walk will be channeled to Penyayang Pesakit Kanser (PPK). PPK serves as a support group for cancer patients at Putrajaya Hospital and National Cancer Institute. PPK organizes and manages volunteers and activities to serve as an effective cancer patient support team and provides relevant support for cancer patients and their families.
