Impossibly Light and Incredibly Strong Marries Soft and Responsive: The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3
When it comes to running shoes, often less is more. The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 combines the newest iteration in Nike Flyknit innovation with a reformulated Nike Lunarlon midsole, giving the runner a ride that is lighter, more cushioned and more responsive. Whether it’s her first run, a 5K race or marathon, this shoe equips the runner with everything she needs – and nothing more.
From heel to toe, the Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 has runners totally covered. The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 is the third generation of what has been wowing elite and everyday runners alike for years. The latest improvements include an evolved Flyknit upper; a contoured, lockdown fit; a super-soft ride from a reformulated Lunarlon midsole; and an anatomical inspired solid rubber outsole delivering runners a fluid, soft and responsive ride.
What’s more, all these functions perfectly work together, as the Flyknit upper seamlessly integrates high breathability, stretch and support. The Flyknit Lunar 3 construction is an evolution in design with a tighter knit structure in the heel for support and a looser, more open knit structure in the forefoot. The result: increased breathability and stretch structure placed specifically where it is needed.
Flyknit innovation enables designers to micro-engineer every stitch and eliminates the need to use multiple materials in the uppers of traditional sports footwear manufacturing. This means a lighter, virtually seamless upper for the runner and reduced waste in manufacturing. Ultimately, she’ll get a lightweight supportive fit that is designed to move with her no matter how fast or how far she’s running.
The contoured fit in the new shoe includes an integrated tongue that stays in place while she moves and a plush collar for comfort throughout her stride. For even more support, Flywire cables are integrated within the Flyknit to cradle the foot and provide a personalized lockdown fit. The result is a formfitting upper with zero distractions so light that she’ll barely know it’s there.
“The Flyknit Lunar 3 combines what runners love about the Flyknit Lunar shoe with evolutions of two of our best innovations and technologies together,” says Rob Williams, Senior Design Director of Running Footwear. “We listened to what athletes loved about the shoe and evolved the Flyknit design to deliver more of the superiour strength and snug support on top of an even lighter Lunarlon ride.”
A reformulated Lunarlon midsole delivers a lighter, more responsive and supportive ride from the cushioning runners have grown to love and expect from Lunarlon. On the outsole, pressure map data informed a pattern that more closely matches how the foot moves as it strides. Designers applied these insights with a solid rubber outsole that provides a piston effect for a smooth transition from heel strike through toe-off. The result is a lightweight neutral shoe with an even more natural stride and fluid ride.
Debuting in time to help runners achieve their New Year’s resolutions – whether pushing for another mile or attempting a first-ever marathon – the Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 delivers runners the ultimate in performance-plus-style.
“The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 is the formula for the perfect run with an ultra-light supportive fit combined with a soft, responsive Lunarlon cushioning that gives her a plush feel through her run,” Williams continues.
The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 will be available beginning February 15, 2015, on nike.com. It will be offered in 12 colors for men and women beginning March 5, 2015, in retailers around the world.
Runwitme Says: Retail price for a pair in Malaysia is RM599.
Hi, it's already in Msia? I just saw flyknit 5.0 recently but couldn't find lunar 3. Do you know which outlets have this lunar 3? Nike outlet in IOI City Mall is near to my place but I guess the premium one is always at selected outlets like KLCC and Pavilion, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Dyana. Yes. They have arrived in Malaysia since March. Nike outlets and Marathon Shop should have them,
