Mr. Klang Parade 2009

What? Mr. Klang Parade 2009

Where? Klang Parade, Klang.

When? Scheduled to start at 11:30am but only started after 1:30pm only (due to some “technical fault” Sigh!)

Fresh from the NB15K, I took the E4 Bus to Klang and then another bus to Klang Parade for the event. It was quite convenient actually. From shooting skinny weenie runners to hulky bulky bodybuilders. What a stark contrast, eh?

I knew I was at the right place when I saw atrium of the mall was filled with big sized macho men. I wasn't sure at first because the back drop was actually for Super Mum and Dad! The stage was empty but the crowd was waiting in anticipation.

As printed on the poster, the competition supposed to start at 11:30am. My watch was already showing 12:30pm.

After a long delay, the competition finally kicked off at around 1:30pm with the first category - Junior lightweight.

There were total of 4 categories in the competition – Junior (Below 21) lightweight (70 kg), Junior welterweight (70kg +); Open lightweight and Open welterweight.

This guy Mohd. Faris bin Abdul Halim is the clear winner because of his well defined body. The crowd was cheering for him and he struted around and posed confidently....

....with a pout that would make Angeline Jolie proud. LOL!

Look behind you! Don't pick up the soap trophy! LOL!

Even the auntie rep from Klang Parade was checking out his ass-et! Sorry...Can't resist the pun! ;)

Yay for the winners! The winners received cash and hampers.

This Zainal Arif bin Zainal Ariffin, the winner of the Junior Welterweight category. Ever smiling even though with difficult poses.

Maybe he has a secret desire to be a ballerina? Hmmmm....

I like the part where this guy, walked around the stage while doing the "Incredible Hulk Pose" much to the crowd's delight! You can check it out in the video later.

Heheh! Sorry...I had to call it the "Incredible Hulk Pose" because really don’t know the technical term for it. I am a fan of The Incredible Hulk - the old TV series (not the movie versions). It is the pose Lou Ferrigno did during The Hulk transformation! (Insert growling sound effects here!)

This also show that I know nuts about body building! LOL!

Wardrobe malfunction or the curious case of the disappearing brief?

Photographing bodybuilding event is easier than catwalk. The contestants don’t strut around so much on stage. They just stand there with a grimace (or smile) and pose.

Now suck it in...Check out the abs! Rock hard, man!

This fler's smile remind me of The Joker. Pretty wicked!

This fler applied tanning oil on the body only, leaving the face so pale. He looked like he was wearing a super hero costume or a bodysuit.

Alang-alang menyeluk pekasam tu....

They are bringing sexybacks.

Can't help feeling like a weakling if I were to stand next to this guy! I gotta hit the gym more often! Heheh!

Ripped!

This is the winner of the Open Welterweight.

Trying out a different angle with help of my flip screen on my camera.

These men on stage maybe short of clothes covering their skin but they were never short of applause and cheers from the crowd!

I didn’t stay on long for the Men Open Welterweight. I had to rush to another event at Masjid Wilayah in Kuala Lumpur – The International AIDS Memorial Day.

Bodybuilding is a different kinda sport from marathon running altogether but both take LOTS of dedication, discipline and PASSION – from hardcore training regime, proper diet, injury prevention steps and all physical works! SALUTE TO THESE GUYS!!!

New Balance - Pacesetters 15KM 2009

I forgot to register for this run and by the time I realized it, the registration fee had already gone up to a whopping RM55. Some runners were seen "pimp-ing" their bibs at much higher $$$ too in some chatbox! Hmmmmm.....

This run is definitely one of the hot sellers in the local running scene!

So, what am I to do? Take picture lor...

Some of the trophies were broken upon arrival....

The medal is exactly like the shoe on top of the trophies. I want one of it next year.....:) I mean the medal.....

A little video I took at the starting and finishing of this run. There were some serious final moment "sayur-ing" (overtaking) in session! LOL!

ENJOY!

Note: Soundtrack - You Found Me - The Fray (Lenny B Full Vocal Remix)

Runners in Red Dresses

I was walking from Lake Garden after collecting the NB15K bib for a friend when I saw this bunch of runners on the busy road near KL Sentral.

They looked like regular runners with their running shoes except that they wore bright red long dresses. And they were MEN! (....or at least they looked like men to me. LOL!)

So, I took out my camera, zoom to the max and managed to snap some picture of them in action.

I have no idea who they were, what they were doing or why they were dressed like that for a run. Does anybody know?

Look like somebody has raided his grandma’s closet.

Whatever blows you skirt up, honey! LOL!

I will stick to my dri-fit shorts and vest...

p/s - Sorry about the screwed up white balance! LOL! (Note to self: Always set white balance back to AUTO after use)

Dr. Mahathir - Selected Letters To World Leaders Chinese Edition Book Launch

What? Dr. Mahathir's Selected Letters To World Leaders Chinese Edition Book Launch

Where? Sunway Pyramid, PJ

When? 13 May 2009 (What a date!)

Who? Dr. M, who else? :)

Our former Prime Minister attended the launch of the Chinese Edition of his bestselling book a couple of days ago, organised by Popular Book Co. (M) Sdn Bhd at Sunway Pyramid.

He was accompanied by Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad (right), who edited and compiled the book. I was there to play reporter and photograher. :)

Looks good for a 84-years old, eh?

Wifey, Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah and daughter, Marina Mahathir.

Yay! A treat to Chinese readers! Dr. M's Selected Letters to World Leaders English edition is in its 5th reprint.

(L-R) Popular Holdings Ltd chairman and managing director Chou Cheng Ngok, Dr. M and the book’s co-author Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad ...

Aik?! Where did Dr. Siti Hasmah go?

She was hidden from view. Can only see her red dress peeking from behind of Dr. M. So, it is true that behind every successful man, there is a woman! LOL!

Chat session conducted by Jamaluddin Ibrahim. His Mandarin is flawless. Can't say the same for his England...I mean English! :) I was scratching my head trying to figure out what he was saying at times.

Dr. M autographing 50 books for 50 lucky buyers.

Dr. M, posing for me. :D

3..2..1..Cheese!

I love the next shot the most. The signs of time. :)

Dr. M writing on a book with a background picture of a younger version of him writing on a book. :)

The autograph! I borrowed the one of the lucky 50s' book to take a snap shot of the autograph. (Tarak buku, gambar pun jadi la....Heheh!)

I was tempted to buy the original English version to be signed on that night but I was told by the organiser that only the Chinese Edition would be allowed for the autograph. Since I can't read Chinese....I decided not to buy the book (yet). :(

Of all the images, YouTube has chosen a still capture of Dr. Mahathir sticking out his tongue as the thumbnail video by default. Heheh! I don't plan to change it. :)

Click PLAY! Watch snippets of the chat session and Dr. M getting mobbed on his way back to the lift after the ceremony!

Enjoy!

I gathered from the chat session, Dr.M is working on a second letter book. Dr M. said that some of the letters that he had wanted to publish couldn’t be released due to national security concerns by the previous PM. Hopefully, they can get pass Najib this time. :)

AirAsia Presents The Saturdays @ Zouk

What? HaveYouFlownAirAsiaLately.com Proudly Presents The Saturdays

Where? Zouk Dance Club, Kuala Lumpur

When? 12 May 2009; 8:30pm

Who? The Saturdays (UK)

I managed to get free pass for this event last minute and had to cancel an appointment (Sorry Jue!!!)

The Saturdays is a HAWT singing group, air-flown by AirAsia direct from UK. "London mali!"

They were in town to promote AirAsia X route to London. Set list pasted on the stage floor.

They opened the showcase with “If This Is Love”, their first hit single from Changing Winds. I love their slick choreographed dance moves. They were HAWT! So hawt that Vanessa tripped and almost fell at the end of the song! Luckily, she was alright!

The second song was a ballad – Issue. It showcased the vocal prowess of the girls. Somehow, Vanessa, the youngest (and shortest) in the group stood up from the rest! She reminds me of Leona Lewis...

Bootylicious....!

Check out the sexy...erm elbows! :)

The only gripe that I have over the performance is the girls didn’t introduce themselves one by one. I could hardly tell who was who until I googled them later the show!

I’m pretty sure not many people know their names! I still have difficulty remember who is who in the world famous The Pussycat Dolls (except Nicole Scherzinger because she is being FEATURED all the time), let alone a newcomer like The Saturdays. LOL!

Check out their HAWT performance of "If This Is Love". Notice there is a chuckle or two at 4:05 when Vanessa tripped on the stage.

Thanks to AirAsia, Now Everybody Can Have "Issue".

ENJOY!!!

The girls were invited back to the stage to draw a lucky name from the box where we all dropped our lucky draw coupons earlier.

The prize? Two returns seats to LONDON!!!!

"Isn’t in yet?" Melody cheekily asked. Heheh!

I was hoping my name would be called out. I desperately need a break from the mundane life of mine. LOL!

The winner turned out to be some girl named Brenda. Sigh!

It rained like cats and dogs when I got out from Zouk but I didn’t really care because I was so glad that Saturdays came after Monday!

I love The Saturdays. Saturday is my second favourite day. My most favorite has to be Sunday because all runs and road races are schedule on Sundays. (Insert peace sign here!)
