Parkrun, the global running movement has finally arrived on our shores. Originated from the UK, the 5K timed run is organized by enthusiastic volunteers for runners like me and you. Malaysia is the 20th country in the world, and the second in Asia after Singapore to have a parkrun.

NESTLE OMEGA PLUS ® launches 30 Day Challenge in partnership with Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) and Allianz Life Insurance
NESTLE OMEGA PLUS® is encouraging Malaysians to lower their cholesterol levels through the launch of the 30 Day Challenge which will take place from April to September. Together with Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) and Allianz Life Insurance, this campaign aims to inspire and motivate Malaysians to make that lifestyle change which will have significant impacts on their heart health.
“Our mission is to educate and motivate Malaysians to live a healthier life. Our goal is simple – we want to incentivise more and more Malaysians to be aware of their cholesterol levels, to take on an active lifestyle, and to practice a healthy diet.
Driven by the many success stories we’ve heard since our previous 30-Day challenge, we have decided to bring back and expand the programme this year supported by partners such as IJN and Allianz who are also strong advocates for heart health”, said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer, Milks Business Unit, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.
“As the leading cardiac center in the region, IJN continues to promote heart health awareness among Malaysians. We are very much excited to collaborate with Nestlé and Allianz Insurance in this program to promote a healthier lifestyle to the public,” said En. Akmal Arief Mohamed Fauzi, Group Chief Operating Officer, IJN.
“This partnership fits perfectly as part of our continuous efforts in championing the fight against high cholesterol as well as high blood pressure and high Body Mass Index through Allianz 3H Cover. Together, we hope to motivate you to make simple, yet important lifestyle changes toward better health and a fulfilling life,” Amy Loke, Chief Market Management Officer of Allianz Malaysia Berhad adds.
The event was also attended by celebrity radio deejay, Sham. DJ Sham, a heart attack survivor at 34 years old, is the ambassador of NESTLE OMEGA PLUS and of its 30 Day Challenge. Finding himself with a second chance at life after his experience, he now actively shares his story to raise awareness of the importance of heart health.
During the event, Sham shared about how he improved his heart health with a variety of lifestyle changes, such as regular exercising, timely cholesterol checks, following a balanced diet, and drinking NESTLE OMEGA PLUS, which is proven to lower cholesterol effectively.
The launch concluded with a Q&A panel session that featured the expert insights from reputable representatives from NESTLE OMEGA PLUS, IJN, and Allianz.
The 30-Day Challenge by NESTLE OMEGA PLUS will be carried out nationwide from 1st April to 30th September.
Winners will be decided based on the largest percentage reduction in cholesterol levels. Top achiever(s) will be rewarded on a monthly basis, and at the end of it, the top contestant of this challenge will walk away with the grand prize. The grand prize includes a brand new car, and Allianz life insurance coverage worth RM80,000. NESTLE OMEGA PLUS will also reward 3 lucky winners on a monthly basis, to award contestants of their decision to make that change for a healthier heart.
