Hotel Review: Grand Ion Delemen, Genting Highlands
Need a quieter place to stay in Genting Highlands? Why not consider Grand Ion Delemen Hotel (GIDH)?
This hotel is about 4km away from the hustle bustle of the Resorts World Genting. Far enough to appreciate the serenity of the mountains but close enough to enjoy what Genting entertainment hub has to offer.
From Kuala Lumpur, we took the Genting bus from LRT Gombak and then the SkyWay Cable Car up to Resort World Genting, where we were picked up by the GIDH shuttle bus. It was relatively quite easy to get to GIDH.
You can find free scheduled shuttle service at the hotel to and from the First World Plaza.
According to the hotel brochure, the rooms were designed with the ancient art of the five ‘Feng Shui’ elements: water, earth, wood, metal, and fire.
This creates a balance between the surrounding environments and captures the energy that is in abundance from this ancient mountain range.
We don't know much about Feng Shui but we know our Deluxe room is very welcoming and comfortable!
Below is the view from our room - the misty mountain ranges of Titiwangsa. Simply breath-taking!
Decorated with modern contemporary design elements, the Deluxe room is indeed the perfect abode after a full day out at the Genting Highlands.

The washroom is spacious and clean.
We love the Ayurvedic formulated toiletries provided by the hotel. They smell so good!
Other rooms available are one bedroom suites, two bedroom suites and three bedroom suites.
There are two restaurants, Hugo’s In The Sky and Kembali Kitchen along with a cafe, Beanz Cafe and two other F&B outlets - Oasis Pool and 7Lounge.
Must try at the Kembali Kitchen - Nasi Lemak Di Awan, the GIDH version of the popular Malaysian dish served with yummy spicy tiger prawn.
For adrenaline-junkies, you guys should try out the Challenge Course. For RM30 per head, you can experience flying down the hillside on a zip line and some interesting "obstacles" awaiting at the end of the line.
Afraid of swimming in cold water? No worries. The hotel has an impressive heated indoor swimming pool and children’s pool in a picturesque setting. It is perfect for relaxation, rain or shine.
For those who hate missing out on a workout during vacation, you'll be glad to know that fitness centre is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment. This includes free weights, treadmills, exercise bikes, and cardiovascular machines.
Tired? Enjoy a rejuvenating spa session complete with a relaxing massage from the friendly and trained masseurs at the Sompoton Spa.
Happy to note that there is a 24-hour myNEWS.com convenience store located in the main building of the hotel.
Overall, our one night stay at the GIDH was very pleasant. Wish it was longer to enjoy more of the facilities but we have to get back to the city! It's perfect for a short weekend getaway to escape the heat and noise in the city.
There are plenty of promotions going on at the hotel. Do check out their website and FB for the best deals in the clouds.
