A Morning at MBG Selayang Fruits Hub – All Kinds of Local and Imported Fruits Under One Roof!

Since I was very young, my mom has always incorporated fruits into our meals. Even today, no matter what I will always have at least one serving of fruit a day. Be it an apple or a slice of melon. And when in season – durian, mangosteen, rambutan, etc. Imagine how excited I would be given an opportunity to visit a warehouse filled with fruits! Thanks to the generous people at MBG (That’s Money Back Guaranteed), a bunch of bloggers and I get to tour the MBG Selayang Fruits Hub recently.

I have to admit, I do not even know the MBG Fruits Hub existed before the visit, even though I am quite familiar with the MBG kiosks in the malls. This one-stop-centre for all kinds of fruit is very much different from the kiosks. Obviously it is way larger and offers wholesale, small purchases with retail outlets, and chilled rooms plus a warehouse with large quantities of fruits.

The MBG Selayang Fruits Hub is located at Jalan Batu Hampar, Off Jalan Ipoh, Batu 7, 68100 Selayang, Kuala Lumpur. It is basically divided into four sections - 1) Retail Section, 2) Chilled Fruits Section, 3) Warehouse Area and 4) Wholesale/Bulk Buy.

We were hosted by Mr. Adnan Lee, the founder of MBG and 3rd generation of fruit seller. He opened his first MBG fruits outlet in Avenue K in year 2004.

First, we visited the wholesale/ Bulk Buy and Warehouse Area which are adjacent with each other. During this challenging time, a lot of people are looking at different ways to create new or passive income stream and some had gone into buying fresh produce such as fruits at wholesale prices and sell them either offline or more popularly now online at a profit.

MBG Fruits Hub provides them a choice to purchase the fruits at a profitable price with discounts can range from 20% to 50%, compared to buying from outside retail shops. Good for those who wants to buy in bulk for their own fruits selling or fruits delivery business especially during this pandemic time.

Whoa! That's a lot of watermelons!

Fresh papayas, anyone?

From the loading bay of the warehouse, we headed into the chilled fruit section. It is like stepping into a giant refrigerator! The fruits here, mostly imported are kept under controlled chilled temperature to ensure their freshness.

Next, we visited the Retail section. The appearance is quite similar with other MBG kiosks around town. Certain unique fruits available here which cannot be found in other fruits outlets are Ecuador Piyata Yellow Dragon Fruit, Japanese Fruits, Fresh Fiqs, Korean Strawberry, Barhi Dates, Passion Fruits, Cherries, Sapphire Grapes and etc.

Of course, you can get your dose of Vitamin C from local fruits here like pineapples, papayas, bananas, mangoes, longan, guavas etc. Incidentally, imported fruits from Thailand are considered local fruits here. You will be spoilt for choice here!

Sarawak pineapple is know for its sweetness.

Local fruit galore!

Mangoes are in season now. Take your pick!

The yellow fruits in the forefront are Buah Kundang. I think it is called mango plum in English. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Heheh!

More fruits....More Vitamin C.

Cut and packed fruits are also available for sale here.

There is a small chilled room (compared to the one in the warehouse we visited before) near the Retail Section where you can get more delicate temperate fruits such as Oranges, Apples, Plums, Grapes, Strawberries and vegetables.

Plenty to see and buy... Everything is so tempting!

Pre-packed fruits for sale.

Amazing varieties of local and imported vegetables available here too.

MBG Fruits Hub also houses a section for snacks and confectionery like chocolates and dried dates at a very competitive price.

House brand premium dates - perfect for the fasting month!

I’d like to thank Mr. Adnan Lee for showing us his fruits hub and “schooling” us on the various types of fruits available and their origin countries. It was fun learning about these wonderful fruits. We need the benefits of fruits for our wellness during this pandemic time more than before.

As a conclusion, be it for consumers or fruits business sellers, at MBG Selayang Fruits Hub, there is an opportunity to buy fruits in small quantities or bulk buy at very special discounted prices and source unique fruits too. It is a good time to buy fruits for special periods like Ramadan and the upcoming Hari Raya. Well, actually you don't have to wait for a special occasion to consume fruit. Have it everyday! Heheh!

One for the album! Thank you MBG!
