the Curve Commemorates Merdeka with 1,500 Participants in the Merdeka Food Run 2024


Petaling Jaya, 3 September 2024 – the Curve, the beating heart of Mutiara Damansara, lit up with an electrifying display of patriotism and unity as it hosted the much-anticipated Merdeka Food Run 2024. This event, which flagged off at The Piazza, was a dazzling highlight of the Merdeka celebrations, drawing over 1,500 enthusiastic participants and creating an unforgettable experience that celebrated both Malaysia’s vibrant culture and the spirit of community.

The Merdeka Food Run 2024 was a celebration of everything that makes Malaysia unique. The 5km family-friendly event transformed the traditional fun run into a cultural showcase, weaving together the joy of fitness with the rich tapestry of Malaysian flavours. As participants raced through the scenic route, they were treated to mouthwatering pit stops offering iconic local delicacies ranging from kuih-muih, lempeng, teh ais, and aiskrim Malaysia – a true feast for the senses that added an extra dash of excitement to the run.

Interactive installations, such as magnetic boards for public messages and a "Wall of Malaysia" where shoppers shared their diverse backgrounds, further highlighted Malaysia’s multicultural identity, making the celebrations truly inclusive.
