Malaysia, 21 May 2026 — This year, the highly anticipated run event returns on a bigger scale on 1 November 2026. Formerly known as the Garmin Run Asia Series, the event now expands across 13 capital cities worldwide, including three new locations in the United States, under its new name: Garmin Run Marathon Series. This marks a significant milestone as Garmin continues to grow its global running community, aiming to engage over 120,000 participants worldwide through both online and on-ground race experiences, while championing the spirit of “From Zero to Hero.”
“Since 2022, the Garmin Run Asia Series has been a movement that encourages runners across the region to go beyond themselves and beat personal bests. Now in its fifth edition, we are thrilled to expand outside of Asia, marking a key milestone in Garmin’s growth and celebrating participants who continue to join and support the series. With this exciting evolution, we aim to encourage and empower more individuals to go beyond their limits and pursue the shared commitment of beating yesterday,” said Jimmy Chuang, Country Manager of Garmin Malaysia.
Garmin Malaysia officially announces the opening of registration for the 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series – Malaysia, set to take place in front of Mahkamah Syariah, Putrajaya on 1 November 2026. Exclusive registration for Public Bank Visa cardmembers begins on 25 May 2026 at 2:00 PM, offering an additional 5% off the flash sale price with limited slots available. Public registration will then open on 26 May 2026 at 2:00 PM.
Adding to the excitement, the Garmin Asia Virtual Run 2026 will also kick off on 1 June 2026 and run until 2 August 2026, allowing runners to participate and stay connected from anywhere. Carrying the iconic spirit of “From Zero to Hero,” the Garmin Run Marathon Series aims to inspire runners at every stage of their journey. For first-time runners, the series serves as a platform to build confidence and complete their very first race. For experienced runners, it is an opportunity to push beyond limits and achieve new personal bests.
To prepare participants, Garmin elevates the race experience through its training ecosystem, the Garmin Run Club (GRC). Training sessions will take place every Tuesday at Sky Field and TAR UMT Arena, before scaling up to twice weekly from July to October to better support participants. On race day, runners can look forward to a stronger community-driven experience with pacers led by experienced coaches Akashah and Faiz. This year also sees increased female pacer representation, reinforcing Garmin’s commitment to inclusivity and empowering female runners.
“The strong support from the local running community plays an important role in shaping the success of Garmin Run Malaysia. At Garmin, we believe in the power of community and the idea that every running journey matters — whether you are taking your very first step as a beginner or pushing towards a new competitive personal best. This year, we hope to encourage even more people to come together through running by creating an experience that is welcoming, motivating, and inclusive for all levels. Beyond race day, Garmin remains committed to supporting runners through our running science technology, training ecosystem, and expert-led support to help them build confidence, stay consistent, and grow stronger throughout their journey. We are truly excited to bring this annual event back once again to celebrate the collective spirit of achieving a healthy lifestyle by running together, supporting one another, and achieving new personal bests,” added Sheena Sim, Marketing Team Lead of Garmin Malaysia.
