Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) kini di peringkat akhir pemerkasaan Akta Pembangunan Sukan (Akta 576) menerusi pewartaan tiga (3) peraturan sebagai undang-undang subsidiari iaitu Peraturan-Peraturan Pembangunan Sukan (Pelesenan), Peraturan-Peraturan Pembangunan Sukan (Bidaan atau Tawaran Menjadi Tuan Rumah Sukan Antarabangsa) dan Peraturan-Peraturan Pembangunan Sukan (Jawatankuasa Pertikaian Sukan).

Singapore, 9 December 2018 - The 17th edition of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) raised the bar for endurance races in the region, with a world class weekend of racing.

Over two days, tens of thousands of athletes from 127 different countries, regions and territories took in the stunning sights and sounds of an all-new course which spanned the lush greens and striking skyscrapers of the world-renowned garden city.

Runner, Official Seriously Injured in Penang Round The Island Relay Accident

Woke up to this horrific news this morning.

According to The Sun, a runner and an official at the Penang Amateur Athletic Association (PAAA) Annual Round The Island Relay were seriously injured when they were hit by a car in Bayan Lepas this morning.

They were believed to have struck shortly after the event was flagged off at the Esplanade at 4am. The runner and the official had been taken to hospital to receive treatment.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Steven Sim, who is also the Bukit Mertajam MP, said he has received a report of the accident and is awaiting details.

Police are expected to release a statement of the incident shortly.

The 72.63km run passes through passed through Gelugor, Bayan Lepas, Sungai Batu, Balik Pulau, Genting, Sungai Rusa, Sungai Pinang, Teluk Bahang, Batu Ferringhi, Tanjung Bungah and Tanjung Tokong before returning to the Esplanade.

Ironically, this incident happened a day short to the "anniversary" of the Klang International City Marathon accident which happened on 10 December last year.

What a sad day for the running community.
