TURNING 15 HAS NEVER FELT THIS GOOD!
If we have to choose between engaging ourselves with a physical activity and going straight home for dinner and lie on the couch to watch our favourite shows after work, undoubtedly we would opt for the latter wouldn’t we? It is this kind of lifestyle that has inherently been instilled in most Malaysians that ntv7 is trying to break. According to statistics released by the National Health and Morbidity Surveys, in 2011 alone, 15.1% of Malaysians aged 18 and above were suffering from obesity. To date, a staggering 75% of Malaysians do not include any exercise in their daily routine. Which is why as part of the station’s effort in giving back to the community, ntv7 is hopeful that its annual charity fun run can help change this unhealthy habit.
To commemorate the station’s big 15th year anniversary, the Feel Good Run this year will be more exciting than ever. This year, ntv7 has decided to keep its previous year’s slogan, ‘Do Good Feel Good’ as the station feels that the act of benevolence goes a long way and until that mission is accomplished with maximum satisfaction, the slogan remains a motivation factor for them to share the love.
“We want our viewers to feel good literally, and connect with our shows and events. Event tie-ins such as the Feel Good Run, is a good platform to engage with our viewers while providing them a means to do good to the rest of the community as well,” says the Group General Manager of ntv7 & 8TV, Airin Zainul.Feel Good Run 2013 will be held on 7 July, from 6.00am until 10.30am. The starting point will be at Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama, while the finishing line is at Central Park, One Utama. A variety of activities will be carried out at Central Park where runners and their families are encouraged to join in the fun.
“As this is our 15th year anniversary, we want to celebrate it with a bang. What better way to do that than to give back to the community, have our viewers engage with us while encouraging them to do a good deed, and shout about the refreshed direction that we’re headed to all through one event,” Airin adds.
“Starting this year, we are going to focus on our program contents to ensure that they cater to the modern urban progressive adults (MUPAs) with an urban mindset and taste,” she explains further.
In-conjunction with the channel’s 15th anniversary, the committee has decided on a special “15KM category” this year, while giving a chance for runners to take on a longer distance route than its previous years. Runners are allowed to pick their preferred category. They are;

Meanwhile, the station will dedicate the whole month of May for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with numerous visitations and other beneficial activities will be conducted with our beneficiaries. The beneficiaries for this year’s Feel Good Run are; Hospis Malaysia, Malaysian Rare Disorders Society, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Budriah and SPCA. All proceeds from the run, including the corporate package, will be channeled to the four beneficiaries.
Last year, the event managed to raise a total of RM142,800 with over 5,000 registered runners and a celebrity participation of more than 80, making it the largest run held in Bandar Utama. The full list of participating celebrities this year will be revealed at a later date. Runners who prefer to run in costumes are more than welcomed, just like its previous years.
