Press Release: Local Acts And Celebrities To Groove It Out At The Music Run KL!



KUALA LUMPUR, 13th March 2014 – Participants taking part in the inaugural The Music Run™ by AIA 5km fun run – dubbed ‘Music Runners™’ – are in for a musical treat as organisers unveiled a programme loaded with feature acts, interactive activities, and lucky draws for the event day on 23 March at the Selangor Turf Club in Sungei Besi.

Starting at 7.30am, the Music Runners will walk, run, or dance their way through five eclectic music zones pumping out their top voted songs across genres such as Pop Kings, Indie, Hip Hop, Pop Divas, and Dance. Being an interactive run, Music Runners should also keep their eyes and ears peeled to surprises along the course!

Special guest features will include Asia’s champion beat-boxer Shawn Lee; who placed 4th in the 2012 Beatbox Battle World Championship, and hip-hop group Elecoldxhot; Bronze medallists at the 2013 Hip Hop International Adult Division World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals!

As a non-competitive run, The Music Run encourages anyone to take a run out to bolster their health. One motivation for Music Runners would be the opportunity to run alongside their favourite local celebrities such as DJ Linora Low, TV hosts Reem Shahwa and Michelle Lee, singer Poova Plachciak, and DJ couple Patricia K and Joey G – who will also be spinning at the Finish Zone festival!



Presenting sponsor AIA Bhd. is also organising a AIASuperstar ‘Best Dressed’ competition on the day, whereby participants dressed creatively stand a chance to win 15 iPod Shuffles. Other partners are also providing exciting prizes.

The Music Run also focuses on giving back, and 10% from entry fees will be donated equally to two charities: Purosangue (http://www.purosangue.eu), a not-for-profit organization, with the objective to spread a culture of NO DOPING in sports through the development of coaching, education and healthcare facilities in Africa for young athletes; and AIA Touching Lives, a CSR Programme by AIA which focuses on healthy living with an emphasis on activation and programmes that help the community lead better and healthier lives..

Each participant will receive a running pack that includes a New Balance Official Dri-Fit T-shirt & drawstring bag worth RM118, The Music Run branded wrist band, car sticker, and temporary tattoo, Fitness First 3-day pass and health screen voucher, and other vouchers for use at Thai Odyssey, O’Brien’s, and Boost Juice.
