SCORE Marathon 2026 Hits Record 51,077 Runners, Earns Malaysia Book of Records Spot

Putrajaya was transformed into a massive sea of colour, determination, and festive energy over the weekend (18–19 July) as SCORE Marathon 2026 by AIA Vitality officially made history. Attracting an astonishing 51,077 participants from 53 countries, the event officially bagged a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records as Malaysia's Largest Running Event!

The two-day running extravaganza seamlessly blended world-class competitive racing with a giant carnival-like atmosphere, marking a huge celebration for its 12th year since its 2014 debut, alongside the 10th anniversary of presenting sponsor AIA Vitality.

Epic Action on the Roads: Vietnam & Singapore Clean Up

On the racecourse, elite international distance runners put on a show across the rolling hills of Putrajaya.

• 42KM Full Marathon: Vietnam’s Huynh Anh Khoi captured the Men’s Overall Open title in 2:26:32, finally claiming top spot after finishing runner-up in 2024. In the Women’s Overall Open, fellow compatriot Pham Ti Hong Le crossed the line in 2:45:33 for a dominant Vietnamese double. Both champions brought home RM4,000 and trophies each.
• Top Local Marathoners: Muhd Haziq Hamzah (2:44:45) and Jodie Lee (3:35:29) emerged as the fastest Malaysian male and female finishers in the marathon, securing RM2,000 each.
• 21KM Half Marathon: Two-time SEA Games marathon gold medallist Soh Rui Yong of Singapore powered to victory in the Men’s 21KM Open with 1:11:53, edging out Malaysia’s K. Prabudass (1:13:04). Singapore completed the half-marathon sweep as Goh Shing Ling claimed the Women's 21KM crown in 1:23:12, while Nurul Juliana Shakira (1:32:08) finished as the fastest Malaysian female.

Beyond the Finish Line: Robot Companions, Local Treats & Double Medals

What set this year’s edition apart was the sheer variety of experiences happening across Putrajaya:

• William the Humanoid Robot: Presented by Work E Robotics, William became the absolute star of the event — welcoming runners at the start line, mingling around the Race Village, hitting the course, and assisting at prize presentations.
• Malaysian Hospitality: Runners enjoyed a uniquely local touch on course with servings of traditional kuih and cold cendol to beat the heat.
• SCORE Double Challenge: Over 6,000 hardcore runners took on the 2-day challenge, earning interlocking medals designed to fit inside an exclusive Double Challenge Frame.
• Race Village Festivities: From live percussion and DJs to Anytime Fitness recovery sessions, adidas House of Fast activations and NESCAFÉ’s Malaysia Book of Records attempt for the Most Coffee Served in One Hour, the energy remained sky-high all weekend long.
• VIP Runners: Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang, not only flagged off the 21KM runners on Sunday but also laced up his shoes to complete his very first half marathon before the cut-off time!
