Kuala Lumpur, 4 March 2015 – iM4U, Malaysia’s leading youth volunteer community, is calling all Malaysians to join its charity run event ‘Reach Out Run: Run for a Cause’ (Reach Out Run) to be held on Sunday, 14th June 2015 in Putrajaya. As part of its Reach Out programme, the event aims to attract over 5,000 runners from across the country. The event is also targeting to raise funds for selected beneficiary organisations.

Reach Out Run hopes to help address challenging health-related issues amongst Malaysians through a noble cause - by instilling the spirit of team work and promoting healthy living through the act of running while giving back to the community. iM4U has built this charity run mainly to help aid organisations championing causes in four categories comprising Health, Special Needs, Community and Animals.

The selected beneficiary outlets for this charity run will be the Dyslexia Association of Malaysia (PDM), SVM Welfare Association, Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation (LASSie) and Yayasan Jantung Malaysia. Leading local talents, namely, Malaysian rapper Altimet, singer Soo Wincci, actress cum International model Thanuja Ananthan as well as the Minister of Youth and Sports, Y.B. Khairy Jamaluddin will be the cause ambassadors representing each organisation respectively.

“Representing the run as the cause ambassador for Yayasan Jantung Malaysia, I urge our youth to support iM4U’s Reach Out Run as this programme is in line with my vision for Malaysia to become a sporting nation. It is a great opportunity for our youth to kick-start a healthy lifestyle in sports, which also hopes to foster national unity,” said Y.B. Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia.

Registration fees for the charity run are based on the running distance categories. The 5km running distance will be charged at RM35 per person and for the 10km distance, the fee will be at RM45. There will also be a corporate group package for a 10 person team at RM1,000.

“We are very excited to run this event which contributes to the well-being of our community. Reach Out Run will not only foster unity among Malaysians, but also act as a platform for participants to support selected charities with a 100 percent of the registration fees distributed among the 4 organisations. Prize winners will also be donating 10 per cent of their winnings to those charities. It is a great reflection of iM4U’s organisational pillars of community well-being and sports,” said Rudy Malik, Chief Operating Officer of iM4U.

There will be no cash prizes for the 5km Fun Run category. However, in the 10km run, there will be 3 prizes each in the Men’s Open and Women’s Open categories of RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively whereby 10 per cent will go to the beneficiary outlets mentioned.
