Kuala Lumpur, 5 December 2013 – The inaugural Kuala Lumpur Sports & Games Expo 2013 (KLSG Expo’13) will take place on the 13th to 15th of December 2013 featuring the latest trends by movers and shakers of the industry, an action-packed mixed martial arts showcase, and an array of interactive activities and performances for fans, enthusiasts and the whole family.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the KLSG Expo happening at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) promises the best of Malaysians’ favourite games and sports under one roof: football, badminton, basketball, motor racing, athletics, mixed martial arts, X-treme sports and more. From exhibitors’ latest showcase of product and technology innovations to mind numbing gaming experience and day-long sports performance entertainment, it is an event experience not to be missed.

National badminton icons Dato’ Lee Chong Wei and Koo Kien Keat will be attending the launch of KLSG Expo on the 13th of December and this marks an opportunity for fans to meet and show their support for their badminton heroes at a specially organised meet-and-greet session just before they depart for their next match happening later that evening!

Mixed martial arts (MMA) enthusiats will also get to meet and watch MMA star Peter Davis practice and demonstrate striking and grappling techniques at the Malaysian Invasion cage ring brought in by Tune Talk. Fans will get to immerse into one of the world’s fastest growing sport with demonstrations by Tune Talk Warriors, Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) tryout simulations, up close gym sessions and more.

“KLSG Expo is aimed at becoming a highly anticipated year-end event that gathers the best of the industry leaders and pros together to network, share ideas and grow their business and passion. We not only want to provide a platform to enable them to showcase upcoming trends but also act as an avenue to introduce major sport events happening next year in Malaysia. Furthermore, KLSG Expo is aimed at enhancing the exhibition experience for both exhibitors and visitors alike with a new concept of incorporating lifestyle elements such as architectural collaborations with design institutes this year,” said Tham Lih Chung, Managing Director of KLSG Expo Sdn Bhd.

KLSG Expo has collaborated with top design schools Sunway University, Dasein and Malaysia Institute of Art (MIA) to have their commissioned creations adorn the halls of MVEC with original art designs and sculptures. To celebrate the history of sports around the world, there will also be a gallery paying tribute to popular sports and the very spirit of sportsmanship itself.

Other exciting activities and performances that will be held during the 3-day event are the Jump Smash Survivor Tournament, a popular badminton mobile game; 28SPIN Yo-Yo Contest; Doraemon & I painting contest; stunt performances by Force Arts Stunt Team, the premier lightsaber combat choreography group in Malaysia as well as drums performances by Deafbeat.

All visitors can also enter KLSG Expo lucky draw and stand a chance to win a brand new car! Also up for grabs is a motocross bike by KTM, who will be featuring their flagship X-Bow sports car in the expo. Visitors will be given a challenger card which acts as a stamp collection ticket. By participating in games and challenges by exhibitors and organizers, visitors will receive a stamp. After successfully collecting all stamps, visitors may redeem freebies and stand a chance to win the lucky draw’s Grand Prize.
