Hello? We are in Malaysia here - land of everybody want to be our moral guardians but not his/ her own! Any Lady Gaga video is 100 times kinkier than this. But we can't fault them for trying. Well, it was a night of good clean fun. :)
I changed the background music because I hated the originals. Heheh! It was like listening to pop radio on a loud speaker. When I go to club, I want to listen to some kickass remixes.
ENJOY!
Aerial dancers in action.
The girls still look sexy even with the black tights, no?
Kinky Boudoir is a new theme night on every Wednesday (also Ladies Night) at The Opera.
I heard it from a little bird that a major coming soon marathon will allow bidding of certain popular numbers for the runners' bibs. :)
Before this, bib numbers are usually assigned by the organiser by sequence. You can't choose your number and you just have to leave it to the hand of God the person who did the registration what your bib number would be.
We do not know the mechanics of the bidding yet but we guess it would be almost similar to bidding for your car plate numbers. This would certainly add some fun and glamour into running the marathon. Heheh!
The favorite numbers among the Chinese runners will include numbers like 6, 8 and 9 because of their auspicious meanings.
Guess whose favourite number is this?
For speed demon (Insert evil laughter here)
A classic...
Die Die Die Die!
Number 4 (四) is considered an unlucky number in Chinese because it is nearly homophonous to the word "death" (死). So, we guess it would be out from the bidding list.
"唔生唔死" (m4 saang1 m4 sei2 in Cantonese) sounds like "not alive, not dead".
This often refers to something that is half dead or on the verge of death. Don't think any Chinese would be caught dead running his/ her marathon in that number. Heheh!
168 is considered very lucky! "一六八" rhymes with the phrase "一路發" in Cantonese, which means "fortune all the way."
But with a difference of just one number with 168, 167 is considered offensive.
Erm...ask your Chinese friends if you want to know what 167 means. Not going to say it here because little children might be reading this blog.
What would be my favourite number?....Let me think.
The thoughts of doing a marathon session in this number suddenly making me feel rather erm... hot. I will go take a cold shower. Heheh! ;)
But, seriously, would you bid or select your nice running bib number?
After done running around and IN Mid Valley Megamall, all the runners and guests were treated with Adidas SS10 Collection, starting with a yoga demo. You can check out the video at the end of the post.
Meanwhile, enjoy the pics....

I hope you won't cry ahem...fowl for two postings about chicken runs back to back! LOL!
And do not confuse Chap Ayam Run with Roaster Chicken Run because they are two different runs.
Chap Ayam (Chicken brand) Run were held this morning at Lake Garden, KL. It was this group debut running event, which was only open to members and invited friends.
I decided to check this run out since there was no other races this morning!
It was a cool and rainy morning. The temptation of sliding back to bed was immense. But somehow, I dragged myself and took the earliest Rapid Bus to town for this.
I met Choi who was busy promoting Newton Shoes for trial to the participants. Those orange laced shoes...
From my observations, I think the run was pretty organised. Volunteers worked hard to ensure a smooth and enjoyable run for the runners.
I hope the flag off could be better in the future though! Heheh! The air horn and the count down didn't sync! Airhorn was blasted at 7! LOL!
Congrats to Chap Ayam Runners for adding this egg-citing event to the Malaysia running calendar! Looking forwards for more running programs from this bunch of cocks and chicks! ;)
Check out the inaugural Chap Ayam Runners 10K Family Run video + slide show.
ENJOY!
Hope you like the sound effects and soundtracks. It was not easy to get them mixed - Techno Chicken, Anak Ayam (2Phat) and Ayam Den Lapeh (Traditional song).

Opening gambit - The Shamrock Dance by Sunway Lagoon.
Speech by Dato' Franciss Lee (Executive Director of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn Bhd.
Dato’ Francis Lee said, “This year, we come to realize that more and more Malaysians are being diagnosed with kidney failure due to the unhealthy lifestyles or diet – the number is said to be alarming and the treatments are costly too. Hence, according to our mission to educate about healthy eating and living, we saw the opportunity to support and raise awareness about the disease plus provide the necessary funds for the needy through the National Kidney Foundation."
Mr. Tai Lung Khoon (Chairman of Fundraising Comittee, National Kidney Foundation)
The National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia was first registered in 1969 and has striven to raise the standard of care given to kidney failure patients and others suffering from various kidney related diseases ever since. In 1993, NKF opened their first dialysis centre at Jalan Hang Lekiu, and since then, the NKF has expanded its role from being purely a provider of dialysis treatment, to becoming a one-stop centre for all matters involving the kidneys.
All NKF patients come from the lower income group, and cannot afford dialysis treatment at private medical facilities, so the NKF subsidises the cost of their life-saving dialysis treatment. This year alone, the NKF needs to raise RM6.4 million to subsidise the dialysis treatment cost of 1,336 patients (the amount may vary by year end) who seek treatment at their 24 dialysis centres throughout the country. NKF cannot do it alone, and they need your help.
“Through ROASTERS Chicken Run, Kenny Rogers ROASTERS and National Kidney Foundation will work hand in hand to help the less fortunate while educating the public about healthy eating. In line with our vision statement, we aim to be the one-stop National Resource Centres for the prevention and treatment of kidney diseases”, said Mr Tai Lung Khoon, Chairman of Fundraising Committee of National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia at the launch event.
Mr. Ken Chia (MPSJ Councillor)
