Yasmin Yusof (a former Miss Malaysia, Radio DJ and actress) is a familiar face at Terry Fox Run. She has been the Terry Fox Run emcee for years. And I always try to get a picture taken with her every year. :)
Terry Fox in one way or another had touched many lives. His quest of a cure for cancer is legendary. You can read about it in Wikipedia. Too long for me to write here :)
Amir Muhammad - film director, writer and book publisher was spotted during the warm-up exercise.

There was supposed to be two flag offs. One for those with wheels (bikes, skates, prams and one more for the running mortals. :)
There was a hilarious airhorn malfunction at the first blast. Watch it HERE.
The run was somehow "cursed" with something to do with "air". The inflatable arch (gantry) started to collaspe on the runners after the second flagoff. No casualities were reported. :)
Heheh! Someone must have tripped on the wire for the electrical fan that supplied consistent airflow to keep the arch upright. Watch the video at the end of the post. ;)
I met many friends and also ex-colleagues at the run.
One of the "colourful" character at the run. I also saw a bunch of people wearing sarongs for the walk.
Runners were treated to free iced-Milo, mineral water, bananas, buns and muffins.
Muffins from KL Hilton proved to be a hot favourite among the runners. They were simply irresistable! Yum!
Year after year, Terry Fox Run remains a "must go" event for me, even though I can't practically "run" because of the huge crowd. It was a run that turned into a walk instead. Earlier, I blogged about the Nutrilite Walk that turned into a run...What a weird twist, eh?
A bigger venue for the run next year perhaps?
I leave you with the video of Terry Fox Run 2009. See ya next year!
