Hiking Trip Up Bukit Putih, Cheras

Some people called it Bukit Awana. Some people caled it Bukit Saga. Some Apek Hill? Ah Pak Hill? 阿伯山? Confused? I am going to call it Bukit Putih, as per what stated on the signboard! That can't be wrong! Heheh!

I guess they called it Apek hill is because there are so many Apek (Hokkien dialect for old man) climbing the hills! There are lots of aunties too! LOL!

The climb was moderately challenging - muddy trails (which gets worse if it rains). There are ropes to help you acsent/ descent the slopy areas.

We got lost at one point because there were too many junctions and alternative routes up the hill. But, we were lucky because there were many seasoned hikers there to point us to the right direction.

30 Minutes to the water fall....

It's a small one. Cooling nontheless. There is a small shelter next to the waterfall where you can rest your feet while grabbing a bite if you have not jumped into the water already.

It took us about 2 hours to reach the water fall from the entrance. Of course, we didn't rush and enjoyed the greeneries and fresh air.

Watch out for that tree!

Watch out for mosquitoes too! Don't forget your mozzie repellent.

When in emergency, who you gonna call?

The list was last updated in 2007, though.

I enjoyed the hike. Not too tough until you have to take MC on the next day. LOL! We were basically done by lunch hour. Perfect weekend hike, within minutes from the city.

For those who want to try this hill, do take note of the turns and junctions you take because you could ended up walking in circles.

Check out the video. You can even catch a fish or two in the water fall area. :)

ENJOY!

Acknowledgments: Thanks to Ben and Brian for hiking wit me!

Been there on 2013-06-01 with our two Kids in the Age of 7 and 8. Took abt 4 hours from the parking place to waterfall (Station 5) and back. Most parts og the hike was easy just the last 400 m down/up to/from waterfall were challenging.
