Goodies....(Clockwise from Right - Sawarak Layer Cakes, Assorted Sarawak Snacks, Tabaloi and Heineken, Visit Malaysia Year 2007 Goodies Bag).
Nothing much changed since my last visit three years ago. Walked around the village compound. Dropped by the Sago hut where a woman was demonstrating how to make Tabaloi, a local snack made of rumbia sago and coconut, the traditional way in a charcoal stove. Decided to buy a packet (RM3). Wow! It was very nice. Unlike the mass-produced Tabaloi from factory, the Tabaloi made here was fragrant and melt in your mouth crumbly. It went very well with my can of ice cold Heineken. Don’t forget to try the Tabaloi from Sago hut, behind the Rumah Melanau.
Also visited the Malaysian Tourism booth to win a goodies bag by displaying my prowess in playing sepak takraw. Heheh!
