Photos & Video: BASF Run 2013 @ Denai Alam. Shah Alam
It didn’t take us long to say yes when the race director of BASF Run, Julie Wong asked us if we were interested to be part of the crew. We have not been to this part of the world – Denai Alam. It is certainly worth checking out. The run is in the second year and opened only for BASF staff and their family members.
There were approximately 680 participants consisting of staffs of BASF & family members. Each of them paid RM10 as entry fee which will go to charity. The company would also donate the same amount, i.e. match the amount collected from the runners.
Persatuan Dylsexia Malaysia has been chosen as the beneficiary this year.
The 5km course took runners around the new residential area, Denai Alam. Traffic is still considered low here.
The run started and finished at Denai Alam Recreation & Racing Club (DARC). We heard DARC serve a fantastic spread of nasi padang in the weekend, with a unique charity system where patron will drop in the 'donation' as they wish into a donation box after their meal except for the western ala carte meal. Must try it out someday!
Other facilities available include horse riding, motor sport, archery and other board game at very affordable price.
We noticed a new “fashion trend” at the BASF Run this morning....
Wear an orange towel over your head. Heheh!
Not only you protect your hair from the sun damages, it keeps you cool too. LOL!
A hearty breakfast was prepared for the runners after the run – Subway sandwiches, chocolate muffins, fried noodle, yoghurt, ice cream and abundant tropical fruits! Run and breakfast, all for RM10! Now, BASF is really spoiling their staff or what?!
It’s great to see company like BASF doing a wonderful job to promote running to their staff and family members. (Insert two thumbs up here)
Video coming soon. Watch this space.
