Kuala Lumpur, 28 June 2016 – Running enthusiasts, block your calendars as the Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2016 makes its return this November.
The relay run will be held at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur on 5 November 2016 and it features Allianz Malaysia as the title sponsors for the third consecutive year. Organised by Pacesetters Athletic Club, the biggest running club in Malaysia, the run hopes to attract some 200, as compared to 170 teams, last year.
“You can truly well say that Malaysians have come to love running as much as their food and have really taken in the running culture. Running can be a solitary sport but if you are a family of four or more, the Allianz Pacesetters is the perfect chance for the whole family to get involved and start making healthy choices. And you can also do it for a good cause,” said Susan Ong, Chief Market Management Officer, Allianz Malaysia Berhad during the launch at Menara Allianz Sentral in Kuala Lumpur today.
Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2016 features five different categories; Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open, Under 26 Mixed and Kiwanis Pace-It- Forward (Mixed). To compete in the Kiwanis Pace-It- Forward category, a minimum donation of RM1,000 is required by each team. All proceedings from the donations received will be contributed to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation.
“This year we are looking to break the 200 teams mark. Over the last two editions we garnered close to 170 teams each year, so we hope to break that this year.
We also hope that this means more teams will sign up for the Kiwanis Pace-It-Forward in support of Down Syndrome and do something good this year,” said Susan.
Ultron and Lucozade Sports are the official apparel and sports drink for the event.
Registration for the Allianz Pacesetter 4x3km 2016 closes on 16th October 2016 or when it reaches 250 teams, whichever happens first.
