Review: New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12 – For Comfort, Cushion, and Durability

What's fresh, loaded with foam and feels wonderful underfoot? Yes, New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 is back with the latest iteration that features the Fresh Foam X with the perfect combination of cushioning and responsiveness to lead you through the longer runs.

Upper:

The NB Hypoknit upper is designed to provide strategic areas of stretch and support. The breathable sock-like upper hug your foot with a 360 degrees experience of comfort while the Ultra Heel design stabilise the back of the foot for a snug, supportive fit, every step you take!

Midsole:

Fresh Foam X midsole cushioning is precision engineered to deliver an ultra-cushioned, lightweight ride. Underfoot cushioning is soft and bouncy but not uncontrollably, giving you the energy returns you need for a longer, faster run while flex zones provide the flexibility for a smoother ride.

Outsole:

The blown rubber outsole provides excellent grip, traction, and durability. Works best on tarmac or concrete.

I have completed the Alam Flora 3R 5K run recently wearing the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12. Colourway: Vibrant orange with spring tide and vibrant apricot.

Since it was a run about the 3R awareness to protect our environment, it couldn't be more apt to mention that the NB Fresh Foam X 1080v12 meets the New Balance’s Green Leaf Standard where the upper is made of 50% or more recycled content while the sole has at least one material in the midsole/ outsole that contains a minimum of 3% bio-based or 5% recycled content.

Performance-wise, the NB Fresh Foam X 1080v12 is a plush, max-cushioned, flexible running shoe from New Balance. It spells COMFORT the moment I step my foot in it! The fit feels secure in the midfoot. I like the generous room in the toe box, perfect for a comfortable stride. The Hypoknit upper is light, breathable, and satisfyingly stretchy.

Overall, the ride of the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v12 is what you’d expect from this shoe: comfort, cushion and durability.

Price tag: RM 749 per pair.
