Putrajaya, 3 November 2025 – The streets of Putrajaya came alive as over 13,000 runners laced up for the Garmin Run Asia Series 2025, marking another triumphant chapter in Malaysia’s growing running culture. Now in its fourth year, the event continues to inspire Malaysians to embrace the journey “From Zero to Hero,” celebrating personal progress, community strength, and the pursuit of better health.
This year’s Malaysian leg was part of a larger regional expansion, with Garmin Run Asia Series now spanning ten countries including Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Japan. The series has evolved into a movement—uniting runners across Asia with a shared mission to move with purpose.
“The Garmin Run is more than a race—it’s a platform for transformation,” said Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager of Garmin Asia. “Every runner who shows up is choosing growth. We’re proud to support their journey with technology that empowers every step forward.”
The event kicked off at sunrise with a dynamic warm-up led by Fitness First, energizing runners before they hit the scenic routes of Putrajaya. The race village buzzed with activity throughout the morning, featuring sponsor booths, recovery zones, and wellness activations that kept the momentum going long after the finish line.
Among the crowd were elite Malaysian athletes including SEA Games medalist Muhaizar Mohamad and Yeow Ni Jia, who will represent Malaysia at the upcoming SEA Games in Thailand. Their presence added a competitive edge and inspired fellow runners to push harder.
Top performers were rewarded with prizes worth over RM192,000, including Garmin watches, aminoVITAL® supplements, Shokz audio gear, and more. Lucky draws and interactive experiences added to the festive atmosphere, making it a day to remember for runners of all levels.
Ni Jia, who clinched the top spot in the 21KM Men’s Open category after placing third last year, reflected on his achievement: “I’m proud of my performance today. The energy from the crowd and running alongside thousands of passionate participants really pushed me to reach my personal best.”
Garmin Run Malaysia also celebrated a milestone this year with the expansion of its Garmin Run Club Malaysia. Once centered in the Klang Valley, the club now reaches runners in Johor, Penang, and Ipoh through weekly training sessions and partnerships with local running groups like Route Kuching Crew, Penang City Running Runners (PCRR), and Bagi Run Club.
Sheena Sim, Marketing Team Lead at Garmin Malaysia, summed up the day’s spirit: “Garmin Run has always been about unity through movement. Seeing runners from every corner of Malaysia—and even beyond—come together today truly brings that vision to life.”
