Standard Chartered KL Marathon Runs Its Final Clinic Before Race Day

The Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010 Running Clinic returns to Kuala Lumpur after travelling north to Penang and down south to Johor Bahru throughout the month of May.

This concluding session of the Running Clinic will commence on Sunday, 6 June 2010, at Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur at 8am.

All Running Clinics are a 2 hour presentation style session which provides participants useful tips and advice on preparation for the marathon, ending with a run.

The Running Clinics are conducted by the marathon’s official running coach, Mark Williams, who will conduct the session as a running guide to suit any level of runners, from running enthusiasts, right down to first time runners.

Among the running topics covered in the session are training, stretching, nutrition, hydration, sports equipment and injury prevention. As part of the marathon’s effort to inspire a passion for running towards a better wellbeing, entry to the Running Clinic is absolutely free but on a first come first served basis.

In addition, all the participants will receive a training booklet that has an easy-to-follow at home guide by Mark Williams.

To participate in Final Running Clinic, one would need to pre-register via email and state ‘Final Kuala Lumpur Running Clinic’ as the subject and list down the name, date, age, clinic (date and venue) as well as contact number, and send it to clinics@kl-marathon.com.

All participants are also advised to be dressed in suitable running attire when attending the clinic and bring along a change of clothes for after the session.

Those interested in participating in the marathon and haven’t yet registered, may bring along their registration fee and sign up manually during the Running Clinic.

The Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010 will be held on the 27th of June 2010 and will kick off at Dataran Merdeka. The race offers a grand total of USD100,000 as prize money, with an enhanced guaranteed prize pool for Malaysian runners, including prizes through to 5th place and a new ‘Veterans’ category.
