Not very often we get two different brands of products being launched at the same time. Salomon, the innovative mountain sports brand did just that last 22 April in collaboration with Suunto, leading creator of sports watches today.
Themed “Elevate Your Run” the event unveiled Salomon’s latest range; CITYTRAIL™, which is a series of running shoes, designed for running on an urban trail.
Suunto also introduced its Ambit2 R range that optimizes running experiences. Combined, this range offers consumers the ultimate running challenge designed for the dynamic needs of changing running environments.
Elevate Your Run is a conceptual approach to running that incorporates the same passions found in trail running. Salomon CITYTRAIL™ encourages you to find trails with terrains and surface variations that challenge runners to, break up routines.

Salomon’s long heritage in the mountains combined with years of expertise gained in trail running, has generated products that fit the CITYTRAIL™ concept perfectly. The X –Series running shoes (X-Wind. XScream, X-Tour) are at home on any surface, with the cushioning and ride that runners need on pavement, but also the protection and grip needed for rougher trails or looser surfaces.
Suunto’s popular Ambit2 R has been optimized for the perfect running experience. It provides responsive and reliable speed and distance readings thanks to FusedSpeedTM, a unique combination of GPS and accelerometer data from your wrist. Suunto Ambit2 R also measures running cadence from your wrist making it the perfect accompaniment for a varied run.
In addition with the Suunto Ambit2 R, performance goals and training programs can be downloaded and tracked using www.Movescount.com on your computer.
The launch event was held at Limoncello, KLCC and was officiated by the Country Manager of Amer Sports, Mr. K.L Choong, Salomon and Suunto’s principle in Malaysia. He was joined on stage by the General Manager of World of Sports Ms. Carol Wong and Chief Executive Officer of AD Time, Mr. Kwan; who represented the master distributors for the brands in Malaysia.
The event was hosted by Josiah Mizukami and attended by friends of Salomon and Suunto like Cay Kuijpers and Gabriella Robinson. Harith Iskandar couldn't make it to the event but sent a video greeting to all present.
