Cyberjaya, 28 February 2019 – SPORTSASIA has announced its first running event - Light 'Em Up Night Run, a fire-theme road run in a press conference at the DPulze Shopping Centre today. The inaugural Light 'Em Up Night Run will be flagged off at 8pm on the 20th April at the Persiaran Flora, Cyberjaya.
According to En. Muhd Ammar, Event Manager, Sportsasia is targeting around 2,000 participants for the run which has three categories - 3KM Stroller Run, 5KM Masked Run and 10KM Sportsasia Run (competitive). Despite being called the Stroller Run and the Masked Run, it is not compulsory for the participants to wear a mask or run with a stroller. It is more like a concept. The top 10 runners in the 10km category will receive prizes worth up to RM600.
To date, 1,500 slots have been snapped up and the number is expected to reach 2,000 participants by the middle of March.
For those who are not able to join the run on the event date, they might want to consider the Virtual Run (3KM, 5KM and 10KM) which can be completed anytime, anywhere within the time frame given. The participant of the Virtual Run will be receiving the same T-shirt and medal as their non-virtual event counterparts.
Nazir Yusof, the Managing Director of SportsAsia said, "The main objective of this run is to create some family bonding time and promote a healthy lifestyle. among Malaysians. We strive to be the best running event organiser in Malaysia."
"Apart from the running event, there will be plenty of additional activities for the runners like fire eater performance by a team called Thumbuakar from Sabah and plenty of food trucks and booths," said Khairul Ali, the Chief Executive Officer of SportsAsia.
