The "Sambal Nyet" of Marathons: KLSCM 2026 is Officially Sold Out!


Kuala Lumpur, 2 March 2026 - If you felt a sudden sense of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Sold-out Disorder) this morning, you weren't alone.

The digital "war" for the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2026 registration felt exactly like the legendary battles to buy Sambal Nyet when it first launched a few years ago. Back then, if you blinked, the sambal was gone. This morning, if you sneezed, your 42km slot vanished into the digital abyss.

By 3:00 PM, just five hours after the gates opened, the Malaysian resident slots were completely sold out. It turns out that local runners have the same "pantas" finger reflexes as hungry fans trying to snag a bottle of berapi goodness before it hits "0" in the Shopee cart.

If you managed to snag a bib, you are now the envy of your running club. If you didn't, you’re likely experiencing the same heartbreak as someone who almost checked out their sambal before the Shopee cart glitched.

"We are grateful to the running community for this incredible response," said Rainer Biemans, Director of Dirigo Events. He basically confirmed that KLSCM is officially the "Hari Raya of Running," which makes sense because everyone will be wearing bright colors and breathing heavily in the middle of the road.

The actual suffering—sorry, "celebration of fitness"—takes place on 3 and 4 October 2026.

With Standard Chartered leading the charge, and ASICS and IHH Healthcare tag-teaming to ensure your feet (and your sanity) don’t give up on you, Kuala Lumpur is about to get very "sporty." Expect to see a lot of people suddenly "training" by running laps around their office parking lot.
