Kuala Lumpur, May 18, 2026 — The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has successfully concluded its first-ever KLIMS Run 2026 yesterday, marking a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026. Held in conjunction with the KL Car-Free Morning initiative, the community run flagged off at 7:00 AM from Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), drawing more than 1,000 participants across its 5KM and 7KM categories.
As the first-ever community run introduced under the KLIMS pre-show calendar, KLIMS Run 2026 embodied the event’s “Beyond Mobility” theme by bringing together automotive enthusiasts, families, fitness communities, and members of the public in a vibrant celebration of active living, community spirit, and social responsibility.
In line with MAA's commitment to community engagement, a RM5,000 contribution was presented to Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Dengkil, a government-run rehabilitation centre under the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) that provides structured treatment, care, and rehabilitation for individuals recovering from drug dependency. The initiative supported through the community outreach organisation Selangor Youth Community (SAY), is part of the efforts by KLIMS 2026 to help broaden youth engagement and public participation, as well as strengthening one of the show’s direction towards inclusivity and social connection.
“KLIMS has always been a platform that drives conversations about the future of mobility. Today, with our first-ever community run, the response was overwhelmingly positive. As lifestyles evolve, mobility must also play a role in connecting communities, supporting wellbeing, and creating shared experiences. We are also grateful to have the opportunity to join hands with the Selangor Youth Community in helping extend our community outreach efforts through our contribution to PUSPEN Dengkil. KLIMS Run 2026 reflects this broader direction and represents our commitment to making KLIMS more engaging, accessible, and community-oriented for Malaysians,” said Mr. Mohd Shamsor bin Mohd Zain, President of the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).
Participants also received an exclusive KLIMS Run 2026 race kit comprising a limited-edition event t-shirt, commemorative finisher medal, race bib, drawstring bag, and a complimentary ticket to KLIMS 2026. Adding to the excitement, runners also stood a chance to win attractive lucky draw prizes, including the grand prize of a MacBook Neo.
